Hi guys, yesterday playing some customgames i ran into a maphacker, i reported and i am wondering how much time will it take to get him banned, and if he has to buy a new license if he is caught or he will just get it locked or something for some time. He hacked and BM´d me so I really want blizz to remove his license.

it takes more than one person to report. Chances are he will get away with it for a long time, if he ever gets done

Add him to your friends list, and put a note as 'hacker'.

When you're queuing for games, and his status goes from 'Available' to 'Available - In Game' at the exact same time you get your 321 countdown, force a logout (menu -> logout).

It's the only way to avoid them. I used to do it when I had someone intentionally stream cheating me.

I think Blizz hot fixed this, and if you do you get a recorded loss.

Generally I follow this principle for map hackers. I have only had to do this once thankfully.

If you suspect map hacking

- Add said player as a friend and add a note to them - easily identified in your list that way.

- Keep a copy of the replay (post it on drop.sc), review it, and get your friends, clan mates or even the sc2sea community to review it.

- If the general consensus is that they are indeed map hacking then you can report it to blizzard as cheating.

- Ask your friends/clan mates and anyone else who has reviewed it to put in a report to blizzard as they will have the player id from the replay.

- Mass recommendations are responded to pretty quickly.

Later on down the track you can check on their profile from your friends list to see when they last were online - this will confirm if they have been banned or not.

The player I reported was a definite map hacker and was subsequently banned 2-3 weeks after the first report went through.

Anyway I feel dumb, I went to download and watch the entire replay (of Dox) because I thought the conversation was there. I never noticed the spoilered 'interview' in the comments of the replay until after I finished the replay ><
