Hey guys!
I just wanted to let you all know that the Starcraft 2 section for Cybergamer has been revived! We have unlocked the 1v1 ladder as of last night so go get involved! Myself along with a few others have become admin's for the section and we hope this will allow e-sports to further continue to grow here in the SEA region. In case you're sitting there wondering what the hell Cybergamer is, it is a website based upon e-sports communities and competitions, they support many competitive communities and provide lots of competitions for numerous games across Xbox, PlayStation and of course PC!
We have big things to come for the Starcraft over on CG such as ODC's (One day competitions) and leagues with a heap of prizes! So for a whole lot more information please check out the master thread located on cybergamer. Below links can be found to that master thread and the 1v1 ladder so finally GL HF.
Hey VB. do you mind elaborating/summarising the format of this ladder? Will it be a weekly league system categorised according to a respective player's current league? etc GM, Masters, GPD, BSG?
Has the system been overhauled since it was last active? There were a lot of format problems for the tournaments, though it was run relatively well and the website was satisfactory.

So basically the ladder is set our so you can challenge half of your current rank , Once a Challenge is created, the system will automatically randomly generate three (3) different maps from the map pool. The maps must be played in the order provided. Due to it being 'Best of THREE', you only need to play the required amount of maps. The winner will then become protected (cannot be challenged) for 2 days allowing for them to challenge another player higher up the ladder, whilst the looser will become vulnerable (a period in which the player cannot initiate a challenge) meaning they may be challenged again.
As this is a open ladder many participants will be competing across multiple skill levels, this means at the end of the season the top 24 or so will be sorted into 3 leagues of 8 for the next season where each league will have its own prize pool. We understand that the lower league players ( Bronze silver and gold) will find it difficult to qualify for these league to compensate for this we will be having frequent BSG Tournaments , PD tournaments with prizes (all participants will be obviously checked for smurfing) and occasionally an Open tournament whilst the Open Ladder/Leagues are still running!
Just to expand on deL's post, the CG SC2 community was pretty much the foundation of SC2SEA because CG was kinda lackluster for what we wanted/needed. If you look at the forums/old CG ladder, you'll see a lot of familiar names. :P
I remember this back in the days of season 1 was good fun considering there wasn't any community opens. Is there any prize pool for the ladder?
I remember there was an old tournament which was run through CG, I think psi something which moonglade won it had a considerable prize pool like 5k pretty big for early SC2 days specially aus
