Hey guys. I a, somewhat new to playing Starcraft 2 competitively. I was watching a Nooby Tuesday from Day9. What he was saying focus on one build and perfect it. He says that's what a good Starcraft player would do. I believe that is true.
Anyway, so I picked up Sky Terran as my build to perfect. Sadly however I have no clue of any pro games or specific players that use sky Terran. So I am wondering if you guys have any suggestions or tips of me playing sky Terran. I am have a lot of trouble if they have s high number of high Templar since they feedback all of the ravens and then storms my whole air army.
Thanks for the help guys!

Sky terran was a style that a bunch of super duper creative people dabbled with ages ago that basically stopped working once people figured out you had to make a few more units that shoot up then normal and to not attack until roughly 200 supply.
It also requires Blue Flame Hellions to have not been nerfed. Sky Terran was sort of viable in TvT in this era because once people figured out BFH's being able to 2 shot marines and scvs it sort of created this metagame where two players were actively engaged in trying to punch each other in the dickhole with a BFH drop. They were dark days, thank god they are over.
Picking a style and sticking to it isn't a terrible idea but you shouldn't pick a style that's very bad. You won't see any pros doing Sky Terran anymore because it's simply not viable. You're not beating queen/infestor/spore crawler with it, you're not beating High templar with it and you're (probably) not beating marine/tank/thor with it.
If you want to perfect one style ( not ala perfection perfect since its not exactly possible ) , try doing 1 for each matchup.
TvZ - marine tank medivac
TvP - marine marauder medivac
TvT - mech(harder to pull off) / marine tank medivac
Well I'm not sure whether I'm right to say that mech is harder to pull off, maybe its just stylistically not something I'm attuned to naturally. But yeah those are what you will most likely want to perfect as standard play.of course those few units are not the only units you'll need to use but those nuances are prob not something you'd need to definitely do unless situations calls for it.
In any case, try not to choose sky terran as something to perfect. Its not standard for a reason, people do it from time to time to throw people off (like MKP mech in TvP) and it relies heavily on not getting scouted and being extremely lucky.
In any case, good luck and have fun in learning terran! You'll need it
Cosmos had a very successful Sky in TvP. But it did not work on all maps and require to surprise the . At that time blind Colossi was very, very popular and Sky Terran worked wonder. It was a combo of a lot of cloaked banshees with many Vikings and scan (or Raven as long as it lasts) to kill the obs.
It's punished by any early blink stalker builds. Storm helps a lot the but is not enough in itself to hard counter as mass banshee kill very fast once it's ahead.
As Iaguz and M.Fool say, it's more a "niche" build than a all-around build.
iEchoic TvT was very popular but it's hard to play well and is not very solid now.
As Iaguz said, with the nerfing of the Blue-flame Hellions, Sky Terrans aren't as megawesome as they were before.
Try a different build. Bio-heavy or something, barrack-based units do plenty damage and if you do it well, you'll build up a ball so big its unstoppable.
Like 200 marines with stim and combat shields. Holy hell nothing can stop that. NOTHING.
I still get plenty trying skyterran, as soon as i scout it though i let out a big sigh of relief. Easy countered by mass queen and infestors, with 100s of lings streaming into their base at a time, its pretty bad to use agaisnt zerg.
I think if you're a new player, 'perfecting' one build is a poor idea. Obviously it's good to have an understanding of builds and how they work, but focusing on your mechanics and micro is much more important. If you're in bronze/silver/gold, i doubt you'll even have the ability to execute a specific build perfectly. This is just my opinion though.
