Smiley: Question Practice Groups in Korea/Taiwan: Clans and Teams

I'm reposting this from a thread I made over at TeamLiquid.net (link here: http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/view...opic_id=311262) I'm a player on SEA and I know there are many SEA clans and practice teams to join, but I played on SEA via the prepaid option (3 days, 7 days, 30 days) and I cannot afford to buy anything big for a while, that's why I cant join. But I got my Korea/Taiwan account last December, and it made me so happy, to play with the best players in the world on the KR server! So here we go:

Hello everyone! I'm a foreigner Zerg player who started playing on the Korea/Taiwan server last December.

I've really been motivated by these threads http://www.teamliquid.net/blogs/view...opic_id=307176 and http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/view...opic_id=292871 and Mind Gym, the book that IdrA read and had a huge part in him winning IEM after that and having really high tourney finishes after that. Here in TL I see so many threads where there are 1v1 practice groups, clans, teams, and partners that have so many people who are willing to practice and looking to improve their game. But most, if not all, of these practice groups are based in NA and EU (and SEA) . I was wondering: are there also practice groups in KR?

I know there are foreigners in KR and not just the pros, from what I've seen from the threads I've read about getting a KR/TW account. There is a channel "teamliquid" but most of the players there are high diamond and masters, and since i'm only mid-gold there, I don't know if it's right to ask them since it might not be worthwhile practice for them since i'm just gold.

I'm really looking to improving my game. I go to school, I usually get 4+ hours of practice on weekdays and I can play the whole day on weekends if I'm not busy with schoolwork or family or friends. I've been laddering the whole time during my practice sessions but I don't think this is the best way to practice. It'd be great if like to have whole sessions dedicated to a single MU and during that sessions many GSL/MLG maps would be used, we'll work on different parts of the game like multitasking, micro, decision making, the skillsets, like in real sports. eSports, StarCraft thanks everyone! hwaiting~

tl;dr gold player looking for practice group/partners/teams/clans in Korea/Taiwan server looking to improve and dedicated practice willing to help out others also improve their game.

This doesnt quite answer your question, as far as i know there are no lower league practice groups, but I think u should still be playing anyone who is better than you, then just ask them for advice on what u did wrong. Good players will be able to give u far better advice than other gold/plat players, i understand its not fun getting crushed, coupled with the fact that u may not know what u did wrong and feel as if everything is wrong with your game since the other player is better in every way but thats kind of the point. You _need_ to realise everything in your game needs to get better, and (in my experience) the second u stop playing really good people and go back to playing people ur level you'll feel soooo mcuh stronger. You'll feel like u have all the time in t he world to make decisions or to drone or what have you, and the difference can be astounding! But yeh my $0.02, good luck!

I'll be really happy to have the opportunity to practice with people who are waaaaaay better than me. In fact I'd prefer this over lower league groups. I'd be so happy if really good players would take some of their time to practice with me and so we can help each other out (I'll do my best to! )

I don't mind getting crushed, since you have to lose at lot before you start to win, NesTea said this once in a GSL interview, because you have to find out the holes in your build and weaknesses you have to fix, how you could have reacted better and what were your options and what was the best decision to make, what maps certain builds work on, how certain skillsets can be improved with practice partners (multitasking, decision making).

I'll try to talk to the Masters/Plat/Diamond players in the teamliquid channel, hopefully I'll get some real quality practice! Do you know of any channel or place where higher-league players hang out in? Thanks for the advice!

I'm aware of the sc2sea channel, but when I go there it's always empty. I don't know if people don't go there or it's just my bad luck, but I'll always keep that open from now on.

do you know of other channels (besides teamliquid and sc2sea always open from now on) or places where high league players go to and hang out? also i'm not limiting my options to only way higher league players, i'm also open to practicing with gold+ players, and while my main goal is to improve my game and to become a better player i hoping i can also help the people who i practice with. thanks!
