Hi guys,

If you don't know i've been talking with Level 3 about hosting an eSports segment on their show (level3.org.au) and i am going to meet with them tonight along with my co-host Timmay

I want to know

~What do you expect to see?
~Should we focus on More of International eSports, more on Australian eSports, or both equally?
~What you expect to get out of the show? News, Information, Team/Player interviews, opinions?


SOME UPDATES:

The show will be a short segment, once a month with reveiws of major tournaments both international and national
Feature some of the best plays if we can use footage
Feature clips of events that i film
Feature a full access video on the web which will have more content plus a blog and other details.
Shown infront of an audience of ~70k Viewers across Australia
Feature special guests from time to time.
1st Segment around Christmas Time in December and an intro to the segment which will kick off in the new year.
Further the growth of eSPORTS!

I say concentrate on international and then relate it back to Aus, compare and make it sound like Aus has a growing scene. The interest lies in the int. scene and the prospect of growing Aus esports - not really the current aus esports scene.

i think you should talk about the international scene and then compare it with your local (in this case australia or maybe even SEA for the benefit of the region as a whole) scene and show what you guys are doing right and what you can learn.

Wouldn't be a bad idea to include footage from the recent Sydney barcraft which attracted a faiiir few viewers.

I'd stay away from player interviews usually - nerdy, shy or awkward players giving interviews just generally makes esports look stereotypical and lame :P (I say this being a nerdy, socially awkward player myself). Also interviews with team reps or managers are going to be too heavily focussed on their own team and will probably come across as cocky or arrogant. I'd like to see it focussed more on the product (gameplay, tournaments, getting involved, barcraft) than teams or players at this point - keep the player and team interviews to the overseas teams

Do you really have a long term content plan or are you just going to sort of wing it? I'm a bit confused at what you're aiming to achieve.

Probably about 7 Minutes - Discussing that tonight
Regular viewers are gamers, may know about eSports.
I will be doing mostly sc2 timmay probably more on other eSports

Just responding to del's thoughts really, but what is it about Aus that we have against cocky people?

Is Tastosis popular over here? Those guys are cocky as all hell, and I don't think there's any harm in acting the same, it's different being cocky while maintaining humility and just outright arrogant.

And yeah player interviewers can go badly, but take a note from how the guys at GSL do it... direct the conversation, ask some relevant q's with short sweet answers, thank em for the time and bume it's done before the viewers lose attention span (avg 8mins from what I hear but try go half that maybe)
