I think the problem of being a low masters player in here in sc2sea is that we are missing out on alot of stuff such as PD clan league and BSG clan league, GPDs. But yes we do have things like CO and Masters League but then again these competitions are dominated by mostly GM league players and high Masters players. In my opinion the skill gap between a GM player and a low masters player is HUGE. so unless we up our game, we are just gonna get owned every tourney. haha.
but then again, it is really difficult to differentiate a low masters player from a high masters player just by looking at stats and that makes it a problem in creating something for us too.
Go play ESL cups Good way to get in lots of practice and play against players from all different levels. Mostly those who do well however are those in masters and higher. But I would recommend checking it out at least. Gets you out there playing, especially if you can't get into the other leagues.
Esl feels very empty every week, which is why i stopped entering them altogether. Also, i think they suffered the same problems that OP described anyway.
Personally i am content in entering the CO and masters cup and subsequently getting smoked (or goig quite well) simply for the learning experience - and it gives a good idea of seriously weak and exploitable points of my build order - more so than what people my own level are able to reflect when i play them

Dooo dooo dodo!
I think once you reach Masters you should have a good idea of how the game works and especially how to analyse replays and figure out how to improve your builds. If you put in the work (that sounds pretty boring for a game) you should see yourself improving quickly.
Definitely join the CO and Masters Cup and surround yourself with better players, maybe you'll be close to their level soon.
I have the problem of being a bronzie who's been there since the beginning of season one.
Everytime I enter a BSG or a CO I get stomped and can never win.
But I love entering them, because as Divinity said, it really shows you were the holes in your play are and gives you incentive to improve.
Aww poor Bugs. If you want to get out of Bronze maybe you should pick one race and learn it :P

Azz had a chance at this one point in the game where he had a nexus and 6 probes. But he found a way to **** it up from there 3 times in a row - Iaguz
I do agree with you, op. Not much we can do though... We can't really have a "low masters only cup", an we can't do a gpd+lowmasters cup either. Your just in that wierd in-between where you can't rly win! Kindve like averag pro's. Good enough to play fulltime, but they never win anything coz their not top 5 or whatever... Just keep playing and improve and pwn some gm nubz in the CO
I echo the sentiments of pukusam exactly. I was in the same spot as him 3 months ago - stuck and stranded in 'No Man's Land' of low Masters league. In fact, I made a blog post about this exact same subject before : http://www.sc2sea.com/blogs/showentr...tryuserid=1132
If you're in Diamond and pushing for Masters, do understand the implications of hitting masters- you need to actually go beyond just low masters and fight for high Masters. Otherwise you'll just get caught in No Man's land.
Personally, I don't have time to really make this push, so Im content just hovering at Diamond level, playing casually, making friends
I'm in high diamond ~ And i'm not allowed to play PDCL Because i was a higher rank before i went on hiatus. Now i cant breach into masters because of my shitty mmr XD
Personally I feel like (baring people with natural talent) its impossible to get past high diamond/low masters if you entertain a regular life outside of sc2. GF, friends, uni, work or others games.
Some people get to gm just by playing games and without significant effort but those people are a minority. Most people like me will never pass that ceiling because simply don't put in the time required - either by choice or requisite. So you have to choose whether you want to sacrifice other parts of your life to improve your sc2 skills or just be content
@meatex - While I think you underestimate the amount of effort put in by GMs,I agree that you can't get further without sacrificing some aspect of your life.
I had initially wanted to make a blogpost /article exacty about this topic, but it seems that others are beating me to it
I can understand how that must suck for low masters players, but at the same time as a diamond player I'm not gonna be leading the charge to add harder competition into tourneys I enter haha I know NA server has a lot of smaller weekly tourneys to cater to this sort of thing but I don't know that SEA is really big enough to support that kind of thing
yea not every1 has the amount of time and effort to put in to get to GM. some people are just talented enough to get in on their own without much effort though. but those people are rare. haha. yea being low masters sucks.. lol
If you have reached masters, then you're already part of the top players of your region and that's an achievement you should be proud about. All you need is more training, and you must be comitted to IMPROVING.
If you are so much concerned about getting owned at every tourney, then it's time for TRAINING. There will never be such things as low-masters tournaments, and restricted-league competitions are aimed to disappear one day when we see the number of smurfing issues we face these days.
So the only solution for you if you want to win tourney and stuff is to aim HIGHER, not lower.
But it shouldn't be a problem as you just joined TCP, so for sure you'll hit the TOP very soon
We actually have two Masters and one GM at the moment.
We currently concentrate more on recruiting Platinum/sDiamonds, that will become Masters one day
