I am very very likely going to start playing WoW again, just to kill time and to check out what's new and stuff, for the 1 month++ or so till school reopens, and probably very very casually after that though that's unlikely.
Gonna be hardcore leveling (well not that hardcore, prob just 12 hours a day or less) to reach end-game content.
Well leveling is a bitch so what I'm going to do is get a 2nd account (USD19.99 just for WoW+BC) and multibox them so I can get the RAF (Recruit a Friend) benefits of x3 XP.
I'll be on Frostmourne, Horde. (a BE Pally)
(I used to be Crazerk from Barthilas)
SO WHAT'S THE POINT OF THIS THREAD?
Well leveling alone is boring, so I am extending the invitation to someone to join me in leveling.
So basically you get a free WoW+BC account, and you join me in levelling. (questing/dungeons, and possibly free dungeon runs from my friend)
Yes, I will give you the account details of that 2nd account I'm making.
Obviously, this is extremely risky and you can just steal that account and ignore me totally. Thus there will be some basic requirements:
Requirements
1) Must be known in this community, or at least I know you in some way.
2) Don't change the password (until we're 60/80/until 3XP is over) . This is so that I can multi-box when you aren't online.
3) Have Skype/Vent or something so we can talk to ease the monotony while leveling. This isn't that crucial.
4) Must have played WoW before and not a total noob.
If you want to take up this offer, either drop me a PM or you can post below and I will contact you. Actually just drop me a PM with your contact details (i.e. MSN) and we'll have a chat. (And I'll see if you're trustworthy/appropriate, etc)
Hey, I wouldn't mind helping, I probably will not be able to play 12hours a day though. Thats just way too insane. From Singapore. I'm still playing WoW now. Subtitle of Frostmourne horde.
I wouldn't mind, my semester ends in 2 days and i'll have 3 weeks holidays until then in which i will be able to spend inhumane amounts of time on the pc :0

Here's some screenshots, but honestly they don't do the game justice. They've taken every system in WoW, analysed what makes it good/bad and refined it. For once, someone actually beat Blizzard in topping a genre.
I'm with Dox on this. I have been playing Forsaken World for a few weeks now and its pretty good
I played WoW ever since its original Beta, until the start of this year. And played it real hardcore until then. (Actually got halfway through Naxx in Vanilla WoW) But WoW is real dead now, its no fun unless you have never played a MMO before :P
Check Forsaken World out, as Dox stated its Free so why not
@TAShiHao 12h is jus the max, u dont have to play so much I can fill in the rest of the time.
Anw did you want to offer to help to rush me or did you wanna play the second account w me?
Do drop me a PM with your MSN pls
@Dox and System
A big part of why I play WoW is for the endgame PvE content, I'm not really a lore/aesthetics kind of person. I've tried googling for some reviews of Forsaken but none talks about the endgame content. Any feedback about that aspect?

As I said before... every aspect of FW is better than WoW. I played WoW from vanilla closed beta until February this year, clearing all content (TDM, Blackrock Alliance) to date except HM Cho'gall and Sinestra, obviously. I haven't done much group PvE or Arena yet, but what I've seen in FW so far is fantastic. Different dungeons have different group capacity requirements depending on difficulty, composition requirements and loot drops. I thought that was a nice touch.
It's incredibly difficult to explain WHY FW is better. I can't guarantee the endgame content will be as refined as WoW is at present, given the amount of time that has been invested into improving WoW, but I see a bright future for the game and things will only get better. I honestly think the best thing for you to do would be to play it for 4-5 hours and experience it for yourself. As I said, it's free. Maybe check it out during next weeks WoW maintenance or something. At first it feels clunky (simply because it's different to what you're used to) but as you learn the game and understand more about it, you find yourself slapping your forehead and saying' "Why didn't Blizzard think to implement that??!?"
I'll admit, Cataclysm improved WoW tenfold, but it's still archaic in comparison. Everything in FW is just so well done. Quest system. Map. Tracker. UI. Dungeons. Professions. Talents. Bag management. Pets. Classes. Composition requirements. Mana.
It would be a shame to see this game die out because of the' "If it's free, it must be bad" stigma.
omg i just xfered off frostmourne horde. was raiding with a 13/13h guild there but now im just casual with friends on thaurissan. too much wow = no time to sc2!
Don't know how to send PMs, or maybe I just can't. Add me, furyofgod@hotmail.com, my e-mail for everything. Was offering to play the 2nd account. Not time/cost efficient rushing when I don't have R-A-F bonuses.

@nard Heh yes I was. I should be quite well-known, as I always spammed Trade for my JC and Enchanting services.
I also frequently formed and led my own PuGs, so yea Trade chat should know me heh.
If you were decent and PuGed I should have raided with you before
@ShiHao - added you on MSN already, chat with me when you can.

Heh I read that the Quest system has a 'auto-walk' function which just brings you to the area for the Quest. I'll prob use that all the time cos I'm lazy.
I understand where you're coming from, you're a person who appreciates a game for the game itself. The kind who can probably write good long reviews because you are able to critically evaluate different aspects of the game.
However, I am not such a person. Even back when it was WotLK and vanilla-WoW players were already complaining about how dumb everything had become (I only started from Ulduar onwards, but I DID do the Naxx raids too of course, but not so much of vanilla) , I was still enjoying the game and had no idea what people were complaining about.
I mean sure, the encounters may be easier and not very fresh for those who've been around forever, but it was still an enjoyable experience.
I will probably try it too as suggested! Probably play it for a day or something. Are there different servers/allegiances or anything? Which one are you on?
But yea, I don't see myself being awed by the cleaner interface or better stuff you mentioned, because my main focus is on end-game raid content.

Yep, for all the quests in the game, you can simply click the objective or the questgiver in the tracker and your character will automatically walk to them. It's really handy, I play it when I'm watching GSL as it doesn't demand much of my attention.

People complain for the sake of complaining in that game... It's a very bitter community/atmosphere. Each expansion has progressively improved the game - WotLK included. Ulduar was an excellent raid, one of my favourites of all time. Cataclysm really improved the quality of the game tenfold. I'm not saying it's a bad game, I'm just saying FW is better.

Don't listen to that "Vanilla was harder" bullshit. The only reason people think that rubbish is because:
1) Mods were not as widely developed, supported and infused within the community. There was no DBM/BigWigs/etc for a very long time. All we had was CTRaidAssist, so a lot of players were dependant on a (good) raid leader calling out all of the necessary timings and events. Once boss mods became mainstream, everything became marginally trivial. Most of the vanilla fights were simpler than some of the 5-man concepts you see today. Move out of fire, swap tanks, pick up the adds, dispel the debuff. Like 80% of the 1st tier of Cataclysm raids required an interrupt rotation of some sort. ~3 encounters in all of Vanilla WoW did. Just for the sake of comparison. :P There are only 2 reasons why people say things are "easier" these days.
1) Because those same concepts have been recycled dozens of times throughout each tier of content. This isn't the fault of the encounter design team - there's only so much you can do with the archaic game engine. It's impressive to see some of the stuff they've managed to do with it. But when you spend 4 years moving out of fires, you sure as hell would hope it's easier.
2) People love to flex that epeen.

There are different realms, yes, but they're all connected. I'm on LionHeart USWest ( Squall), Server 4 or something. PM me when you start playing it with your char names and stuff.

I think it's something you need to experience firsthand before you can establish the comparison. The auto-quest travel is one of dozens of examples. You play WoW and spend like ******* 348340634 years travelling between destinations. You play FW and alt-tab while your character runs to the NPC. It's all about gameplay being more engaging for the player.
As System said, the game is brand new, there are barely any players at the level cap yet, so we have no idea how the endgame will develop. But considering their attention to detail with regards to every other aspect of the game, I'm confident they're gonna nail it.
The very first dungeon I did required me to interrupt the final boss every cooldown! For a comparison between the Interrupt abilities between WoW's Rogue and FW's Assassin, the Rogue merely requires you to pool half a bar of energy in anticipation, whilst the Assassin requires you to invest combo points as well. The interrupt management requires a little more forethought, which is nice.
@Dox and SYstem
I've been looking at more reviews, and many commented that it's very 'grindy'. Is that the case? :/
And they also commented that it's quite dependent on the Cash Shop where you have to pay money to get stuff. So basically you'll be severely outclassed by people who actually spent money on the game, regardless of skill . :S
@paroxysm - probably by next week. define 'helping out'?
