Iron Squid 2 Announced!

After SlayerS_MMA’s victory in the first installment, Iron Squid is returning! Boasting an astonishing $27,000 prize pool, Iron Squid II is shaping up to be one of the most talked about tournaments of the next few months. The tournament will consists of four online qualifiers, with two players qualifying from each, to go along with the 24 invited players, resulting in a 32 player tournament. 8 groups of 4 will then be formed and played out in the GSL format, with the top 2 from each group progressing to the round of 16. The group stages, round of 16 and round of 8 will all be played online, with the finals to be played live in Paris.

Prize Allocation:
1st Place: $12,500
2nd Place: $6,250
3rd Place: $3,750
4th Place: $2,500
5th-8th Place: $500
The winner of each online qualifier will also receive $500.

Qualifiers:
There will be three region specific qualifiers and one open qualifier.

October 13th, KR only qualifier – SEA Players eligible
Played on the KR server, open only to players living in Asia or SEA.

October 14th, EU only qualifier – SEA players ineligible
Played on the EU server, and only open to players living in Europe.

October 20th, NA only qualifier – SEA players ineligible
Played on the NA server, and only available for players living in America (including Latin America)

October 21st, Open qualifier – SEA players eligible
Played on the NA server, everyone and anyone is able to enter.

The invited players have not yet been announced, but will be released within the next few weeks. All games will be broadcast on the Iron Squid website.

Its remarkable that despite all the flak totalbiscuit was getting at the start, he ploughed through, put up his own money and has churned out event after event for the community - eventually winning the respect of the most cynical haters. And he even invested in his own new team now!

I think he's doing great stuff for eSports, and I respect him loads for that.
That being said, I still despise his casting. I don't hate him as a person for it now, just as a caster :P

Anyway this tournament looks mad sick. Hopefully our big names can get through with the practice they're putting under their belts atm ^_^
