Hello all, new user here. I will be flying out to Singapore in 2 days(currently in New York) and was wondering if you guys can fill me in on what the SC2 scene is like there. I'm curious as to if there are a schedule of local tournaments and if there are an abundance of LAN centers around like in Korea. I will be going to Singapore primarily for vacation and part business but would love to meet with those from the Sc2 community if possible - in the meantime I'm just hoping to get an idea first of what its like

Also, I currently have a KR account and wasn't sure if I needed to purchase a SEA account when I'm there. If someone could clarify this for me, it would be much appreciated.

yeah u can play on ur kr acount when ur in singapore but u might lag a little since the server is being hosted in korea and ur like ??km away. singapore's not big, so we don't have that much of a gaming scene but we DO have a few lan cafes and the creator of this site is from singapore (nirvana). guess you can ask him. and clan imperial (iRL) is a singapore based clan and maybe u can talk to them or something. currently no lan tournaments going on because everybody is busy with the SEACL.

Thanks, I think I'll create a SEA account in the meantime since I'll be in Singapore for a while. 109SGD is a real killer though, why so expensive???

NONONONONONONONO don't buy it online! go to a computer shop and buy the game for like 85 SGD or something!

109$?? That was about what I paid for when SC2 first came out.

Anyway the connection here to KR/TW is actually pretty good, when I played there was no considerable delay or anything, same kind of latency as to SEA

haha crazerk! I waited 3 days after release and I was a regular shop member at empire games so that became $89. <----- how much I paid for sc2

Thanks, good to know. Hopefully there will be an upcoming LAN tourney soon. Will be in Singapore for over a month , definitely looking forward to it.

mmm I can't remember the exact cost because I bought it through my friend who bought it via ah lim (the uncle from Upper Serangoon Shopping Centre in Singapore) , but it did come with a Tshirt + dog tag ^^ Queued for several hours too

IMO if ur coming to singapore for vacation, just go around and enjoy non-video game related stuff. Theres not much SC2 scene here and ur time would prob be better spent on exploring the place!

Unfortunately, the SG SC2 isn't as developed yet but I'm sure we'll catch up soon ^^
