[SG] Starcraft II Singapore School Holiday Championship (SSHC Dec 2010)

I regret to inform you guys that this tournament has been put on hold and considerations are being made to reinstate it during the June holidays instead. Thanks to everyone who signed up to show support but unfortunately there just wasn't enough participants to justify running the tournament.

School's out and the exams have ended, and what are you going to do with your free time? Well probably some of you would already be playing computer games, and in particular, this awesome game called Starcraft II. So how would you like to be able to win some cash and/or prizes while you're at it! (prize pool is currently at SGD$100 currently and we are in negotiation with sponsors now and that will likely increase, detailed breakdown will be confirmed soon!)

2. Are currently a student in a Singaporean Junior College or Secondary School

Format
The tournament is restricted to 64 registrants on a first come first serve basis
The tournament is a single elimination format, with Best of 3 up till semifinals and Best of 5 for finals
The rounds of 64 and 32 will be all held online on SEA Bnet Servers.
The final RO16 will be held on location @ Raygun (at Park Lane) @ 1pm onwards on 19/12/10
Tournament Rules: Race Declaration: Players must declare what race will play as in the registration email. Players are not permitted to change the race they play throughout the tournament. Map Pool: The current Blizzard 1v1 Ladder Map Pool will be used (Metalopolis, Xel'Naga Caverns, Shakuras Plateau, Lost Temple, Delta Quadrant, Steppes of War, Blistering Sands, Scrap Station, Jungle Basin). Loser of the last round will pick the next map to be played on. RO64 Starting map: Xel'Naga Caverns RO32 Starting map: Metalopolis Timelines: Players will have their opponents BnetID up on the brackets and they will have the days listed below to arrange for the games to be played at any point in time during the week up till 5pm SGT on the respective Sundays.RO64 Matchups have to be played within Dec 1 - Dec 5
RO32 Matchups have to be played within Dec 6 - Dec 12
The last call for games for that week will be 5pm SGT on SEA Bnet servers. PM Mezza.445 if you are online. If your opponent is a no show @ 5pm, he/she will be disqualified!
The responsibility is on the winner of the round to attach and email all replays as well as final scoreline to sc2sshc@gmail.com by 5pm SGT on the respective Sundays! Cheating: Cheating and bug abuses are non tolerable offences and will be subjected to immediate dismissal Disconnects: Disconnects count as a loss unless both players agree to replay the game Conduct: Excessive bad manners (BM) such as player bashing, raging, racial slurs, etc is grounds for dismissal from the tournament. We're here to promote eSports and we would like all participants to show an acceptable level of sportsmanship Observers: At all phases of the tournament Match Officials must be allowed into all games upon request. Additional Observers are allowed during the online phase of the tournament only if both parties consent to it. However the organizers would like to advise against random observers on both sides to reduce incidences of unfair play/lag, etc. There will be no fixed match officials for the online phases of the tournaments and the players themselves will be responsible to ensure fair play. Identification: On the final day 19/12/10, all participants must bring their student identification card to Raygun to be allowed to participate in the final competition Disclaimer: All tournament info are subject to change without notice at the discretion of the tournament host.

for the online phases, your opponents bnet name and id will be announced to you at the start of the week, you will have the week until Sunday night to get the games done and replays emailed in

yep, sunday 5pm is the final playing time, if game can't get started by sunday 5pm, the person not online at sunday 5pm will forfeit that round. if you really can't contact that person during the week online you can pm me and i can try to facilitate the game by emailing both of you in together in a CC

Awww man... You break my heart mezza.
I'm in JC right now.
And I know that it's awesome that SC2 is heating up in sg right now.
But unfortunately A levels isn't over... In fact, its starting this coming monday
I really wanna participate but can't right now.
I hope there will be more upcoming tournaments like this in future.
And I just wanna say you're doing a good job so far. Just keep doing what you do and let's hope the heat won't die out.

Younger age group? >.< JC students are same age as Poly students, so if JC students are allowed, logically shouldn't Poly students be allowed as well? (:
