Why hello there my fellow sexy nerds! (especially you Dox) We have had so much Starcraft news this week that I don’t think I can fit it all in a small, compact summary. But I will try my best! We’ve had FXO buy a professional Korean team, a certain Mexican amigo smurfing in the Dox Cup and we even had some shocking twists in Brultze and Zeion’s awesome epic super duper great beautiful smexy on-going fan fiction! Did any of the above interest you? Read on to find out!
1-FXO acquires fOu!
FXOBoSs recently announced that they have officially acquired the team fOu (for our utopia) What this basically means is that fOu will now become FXOKorea. Choya, the manager of fOu will maintain the job of managing the FXOKorea team but will wear FXO shirts at any tournaments they play in. This means that fOu no longer exists but they will always have a special place in my . FXO will sponsor the players and pay for accommodations, flights etc. when they participate in foreign tournaments. This also means the former fOu players tag will change. (FXOChoya, FXOsC etc.)
FXO has a crap-tonne of $$ and many people have jokingly said that FXO will end up just buying up every single team there is. This will never happen…Or will it? –da da daaaaaaa- You can find more information in the Team Liquid thread http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/view...opic_id=245003
2-Dox Cup + smurfing drama
This weekend we had Dox, the most awesome guy ever, hold a $500 tournament pulling the money out of his own pocket! That’s commitment right there! (Dox fanboy, anyone?) Anyway, we had so many people sign up, the whole tournament took about 14 hours to conclude! Several SEA superstars like FXOm00nglade, aLtiaguz and Aean signed up, tearing up the brackets!
All was going smoothly until a major smurfing drama emerged with sixjaxMajor discovered to be smurfing in the tournament. For more information about the whole edrama, check out the Teamliquid forum thread http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/view...opic_id=244885
FXO has announced a competition where you, the fanboys (and fangirls) can use your creative minds to design a brand new FXO kit, including t-shirt, pants and jacket. The winner of this competition will receive a full, free FXO kit with their name on the back of the t-shirt! This may be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity!
So get designing!
4-Win gear signed by SlayerS_MMA!
As If the t-shirt competition wasn’t enough, now Razer is giving away FREE gear signed by none then the one, the only, SlayerS_MMA! All you have to do is click http://www.razerzone.com/mma/en/contest and enter the details it asks for! It’s that easy!
5-Gview Tournament
Last but not least, we have an up-coming tournament where we have some of the best players from SEA, put up against top American players like FXOSheth and also some of those monstrous beasts we call Koreans, you know what I mean. If you want to be one of the SEA players competing against the world all you have to do is sign up http://www.sc2sea.com/showthread.php?t=1712 and leave your Sc2 ID and character code.
Everyone thought that a PvP finals was going to be boring.. -yawns- but this was completely different! Of course we have our usual course of 4 gates, blink etc.. but after taking 2 quick games putting Tassadar up 2-0, Puzzle cracked the Puzzle! Superb gameplay and good control managed to bring him back from the dead, and he swept the next 4 games to take the Code A Championships! Congrats to Puzzle and good luck in Code S next season!
Do check out the VODs at www.gomtv.net. The last game really had me sitting at the edge of my seat!
The biggest surprise was MC losing to HongUn, disappointing everyone who wanted to see a match between the God of Zerg against the Cratoss. Nestea must be smiling wider than the Pacific Ocean. Another unexpected results must also be Bomber losing to Byun. Bomber took the first two games, but someone please remind him it is a Bo5? Take no credit away from Byun, he is a solid player, and showed it in the deciding game on TalDarim Altar, constantly whittling down Bomber's worker count with blue flame hellions, forcing Bomber to eventually type out.
With these results, it may just be a ZvZ finals between the IM zergs, and so Zerg underpowered? (Looks at EG)
With both Idra and Minigun winning their first matches, this pits the two of them together in the next round! Everyone does remember the fiery competition on ladder between them right :P will Idra perform like how he thrashed MC at MLG, or will he crumble again, and stick to his "Zerg is not supposed to beat Protoss"? Stay Tuned!
