Unrelated to SC2, but how many of you guys played/play Portal 2?
In case you didn't know they released the 'Perpetual Testing Initiative' last week, which lets you design Portal 2 maps in a much more user friendly interface, and release them onto Steam workshop for the world to try. I love creating puzzles, so found this to be rather awesome.
Was just wondering whether anyone in the community are into making such maps / got maps of their own for others to try / try some custom maps out yourself?
If you have the game on steam, you can go to steam community-> steam workshops -> portal 2, and 'subscribe' to any map you like and it will automatically download it for you in-game when you next launch the game. In-game, you can play these by choosing 'Community Test Chambers'.
Did yours, Arma. The jumpy button didn't seem to aim quite right, took a few goes to land me in the portal properly. And sooooo many dots going everywhere in the first main room, lol
I love Portal, puzzles, science, thinking with portals, love it. Though I'm not gonna bother creating maps since I suck at that.
Yeah me too. Whenever there's a map creator in a game I always fiddle around with it for about an hour then realize how much my map is going to suck and quit.
I played the game a lot a while back, have subscribed to some custom maps but not yet gone into the game to try them. I will add yours to my subscribe list and let you know what I think of it when I actually get around to playing it.
I was playing custom maps in portal 1 before P2 came out as practice and to get me psyched and it was very clunky and annoying to do. Sounds a LOT better in P2.
What is the editor like? easy to use? Is there much scripting that needs to be learned? How hard is it to make a chamber look really good?
When seeing this on Steam it didn't hit me how awesome this is!
Didn't really think the campaign released the potential for really hard + skillfull puzzles. This will bring new life into Portal 2 for me! hell yeah!
