Hello Bronze, Silver, and Gold leaguers of sc2sea, I and another will be hosting an amateur tournament on the NA servers; as of right now, there are no prizes involved, and it will be just a great way to get to know each other, learn strategies, and have a great time. Right now, we are planning on having the tournament around the time of December/January, and this forum post is just to see how many of you would be interested (yes yes, I know that I said NA servers, but a little birdy told me that those who bought an SEA account also recieved an NA account). So, respond, tell me what you think, and if you're interested, please leave a comment with your in-game name and code (e.g. Rattlehead. 950). If you're not comfortable with posting a name, just PM me and you will be tallied.
A couple questions from me:
1. I and another - Who's the other?
2. Why NA server instead of SEA?
I notice you're new to SC2SEA as a poster, make sure you head over to the "introduce yourself" section so people can get to know the tournament organiser!

Well to answer the questions, the "I and another" are me and a friend, who doesn't have a SC2SEA account. As for the second question, I personally do not have a SEA account, although I know this site does offer them. It may be something I take into consideration. Any who, I'll check out the introducing thread like you said.
ill be in it! tho it could be better if it the date was closer and make an actual date so that everybody will know and be confirmed. can u make a channel on NA server for all of us to join?
my na ign is WingsOfDeath tell me ur name and code ill add u
Relatively interesting idea, if you could promote this within the NA server and then maybe attract some of their players to SEA? It would be a interesting experience to be matched up against different styles of play from different servers.
TCP, I don't have a specific date yet because my job does not post work dates until the week before, so finding a specific date would be challenging at the moment. Also, my ign and code are the example: Rattlehead. 950. I have created a channel called NASEA for anyone interested to join.

It would be an interesting clash of players, no doubt. But, promoting on my own servers is proving more challenging than I thought.
What timezone will it be tailored for and will it be weekend or weekdays, single day or ongoing? I'm interested but work nights so can't participate in most events. I'm DrJekyll on NA but can't remember my xtr code, will edit it later (:
BBQ, it will be tailored for a central time zone in U.S. I have not decided on the length, but I want to shoot for just a single day thing. And I also have work conflicts, which is preventing me from giving an exact date, so I will see if i can get a day off to make this happen.
While i appreciate your enthusiasm to run a tournament and dont want to sound negative, but it sounds like you are proposing a tournament:-
1) not on the server to which this site is dedicated;
2) at a time tailored for the USA, meaning that many of us would have to get up at 1am-5am to play in the first round (assuming a say 10am US start for a single day tournament);
3) with no prizes; and
4) where you cant advise the date on which it will occur.
While i understand you have only requested an expression of interest, this seems a bit of a hard sell given that every saturday night from about 6pm onwards there is a very professional BSG tournament (with prizes) run by AsylumOfSouls. There just seems to me to be very little to offer, other than the thrill of competing against BSGs from other servers. If i am wrong about this, please correct me - maybe i am missing the point.
If you were really interested in getting SEA players to this tournament, maybe:-
a) make the timing of the tournament something that can fit in with players outside the US; and
b) have something that makes your tournament unique - whether that is a novel prize or some reason for the SEA players to go out of their way to attend. Looking at the successful sc2sea tournaments, there is always a prize on offer to attract players for more than the thrill of competition.
Just some comments. Take them as you wish. Good luck with the tournament.
No, I totally see where you are coming from. Looking at it from your standpoint, it makes no sense for SEA players to want to play on the NA servers anywho. I really appreciate all feedback, and since this would be my first organized tournament, maybe I should start on my own servers before expanding outward.
This has the potential to become a very popular thing for the BSG players. There is as already mentioned a weekly BSG tournament but i'm sure people would be interested in tuning in to this as well, so long as it doesn't clash with any other tournaments.
The main problem will be the time difference between the U.S and the SEA region. To give some basic figures on this. AEST/AEDT is around 16-19 hours in front of the U.S, so for example Saturday night in America is Sunday morning in Australia. So, i would recommend holding the tournament on a Saturday or Sunday MORNING for SEA'ers, which will be Friday or Saturday night in America. This way it won't clash with any other major tournament, but whoever wishes to participate will have to be ready to play by 11-12 o'clock.

Alright, thanks for the suggestions DeathsFang! For now, I will shoot for a date sometime in mid January, after I request some days off to hold the tournament. I will keep everyone posted on the date.
