After reading this thread on TL about teamless pros, lets play a quick game.
*Making this up as I go along but whatever*
You are the manager of a team, and you must pick 1 player, from each race, from each region (lets forget China for now, sorry F91).
Explain your picks, and then show the top 2 players from your picks that you would expect to get some results within the next 6 months. This DOES take into account that there are going to HoTS tournies starting up too, so keep that in mind when making your picks.
For those who cbf clicking the link, here is the list of players:
Alternatively if you'd like to take the game further; do the reverse - pick the players that you expect to fully fade/disappear before they even get a team within the next 6 months.
PS: I didn't make the list of the players and their "validity" of them being a pro, so don't rage at me about whether "x" is a pro :P
Edit: After looking at the list again I've realised it's kinda... elementary as to who people will pick for NA/EU... but whatever. Maybe someone will go out on a limb
illusion (unless lastshadow can stop playing LoL, put his ego aside AND compete in foreign events without tilting)
This was a big point for me when considering, I think LS is pretty decent, but seems to be hugely emotionally effected by things and yeah... continues to play LoL :S

Lastshadow always has been and always will be mediocre at absolute best.
I think I'd take alicia or maybe sage for kr Protoss, hard for me to say I feel like Alicia might be stronger though so I guess Alicia it is. For Terran polt is definitely my pick, initially I thought we had to pick two from each category and I didn't know who else to pick aside from polt haha. Lastly I think golden would be the kr zerg, yugioh plays too... Weird for my liking, although he is definitely my a very close runner up.
Then for Europe I'd take sase, I think tod is good as well but I think sase has shown the potential to do well and could do it again. I won't manage naniwa. For Terran I want Tarson because he's the only one I really recognise aside from sjow and sjow doesn't play anymore so. (Then again I don't know if Tarson does...) For zerg targa has to take the spot, morrow is playing a lot of heart of the swarm and I never liked the way he played Terran vs zerg instead of zvz. It made him that guy who I couldn't rly follow because I like learning. I also think targa has lots of potential to perform as shown by various dreamhacks.
State for Protoss cause he's better than agh IMO although I don't really like either of the players that much. Illusion is definitely my favourite Terran for NA and I think he can do well and become a top player. Lastly for zerg, this is hard cause I like all of the players. PsY is a caster, who I used to watch a lot but I don't want to add a caster as my only NA zerg. Hawk I think might be the player I like less than glon and chance, I tend to be a big fan of the vile players I guess (state, illusion, chance, hawk). I really liked chance back when he was in the ipl team leagues, he was the epitome of the zerg I wanted to play like so I think I will take him just because I really like him. Glon and hawk barely miss out though. Like if chance doesn't play anymore or something similar then glon definitely take the spot. He's a really good player who has potential to really explode soon.
Top 2 I'd pick to do well would be polt being the Terran master he is and golden who had quite a performance at nasl 4. I think they will both be able to adapt to hots well. However, go chance and illusion! :d
Polt
Polt is one of the best terrans in the world, in addition to being one of the most inventive/influential. He has a very broad style, mech being the only thing he doesn't really do, and he'd make an excellent practice partner for everyone else on the team.
Alicia
Alicia, with a lot of success in foreign tournaments, would be a great influence on the team.
YuGiOh
YuGiOh stands out from a fairly mediocre selection of Korean zergs. As a member of SlayerS when they boasted some of the best results going, I'd expect him to make him a solid practice partner if not team player.
SaSe
While NaNiWa is the safer money performance wise, his track record with teams would make me cautious. In real life, I'd talk to him, and make a decision based on that. Without doing that though, he's too big a risk. SaSe is the opposite - solid foreign protoss, mature and capable of leading a team.
Tarson
Tarson is a rad guy, whose personality screams a love for the game. He models himself on Mvp and I think with a bit of influence from Polt will see some major improvement.
MorroW
Sweden > Norway. Maybe I'm overcompensating for my bias in favour of TargA, but I am betting on MorroW as a safer pick long term.
Illusion
Lol, like it is a question.
The final 2 spots I would forgo, in favour of increasing the salaries/travel budget of the rest of the players.
If I owned a team, I wouldn't focus purely on results. Sure, having the sponsor logos displayed at a grand final of a tournament would be great, but I would focus more on having a bigger fan base. More fan base -> make sponsors happy -> create a self sustainable team.
Korea
Alicia
-I honestly don't know much about these Korean Protosses, so no real reason behind Alicia.
Dragon
-No.1 entertainer. Buy his fans, but also the potential to become a good player.
Golden
-NA KR Zerg superstar. He shows results, as well as have the potential to be an entertainer / personality for the team.
State
-Have you seen this guy's stream? Talks about tits and asses to Koreans on ladder. I believe him and Sase was the top two foreigner players on Quantic while it was still alive. Skill + personality, so that's a plus.
Flo
-Big fan base. There was so much potential in her, in both skill wise and personality wise.
Hawk
-Again, potential to be a good player as well as an entertainer/personality. Who doesn't love watching proxy hatches
