Hey guys, since i cannot sleep and i am very psyched about this plan, im gonna discuss my ideas and would love to receive any feedback
So currently, my school announced that all students would need to do this community and service project thingy.
Me and a friend thought of the idea of a gaming tournament due to the large number of gamers at my school
Currently, we are aiming to run tournaments for 3 games simultaneously all in 1 day.
This will obviously be run by my friends and a group of volunteers that might want to help cast or just admin.
In my school, we have a multipurpose room that is pretty frikin big and has 2 projectors on the sides of the walls. My plan is to have a spectator area at the 2 projectors with people casting and streaming the games on to the projectors.
I will then split the room into 3 areas for each game so that they can be played properly
Right now, the success of the event depends mainly on the kind of sponsors we get and if we can even get any. We are only looking for sponsors that could donate products so we can use them as prizes for the 1st to 3rd places in the 3 tournaments
We will raise the funds from entry fees into the tournament
Right now, this event is still in the planning stage and a lot of things could change, but currently that is what my view of a perfect event will be.
What do you guys think?
I assume this is a BYOPC LAN so you're gonna need tables and chairs and sufficient power to support all the devices (+ you're going to have to spend the time setting it all up!) + a reliable network connection (uni and school internets tend to be set up such that they will kill or hinder any connection that is using too much download/upload for a certain amount of time).
I think your best bet for sponsorship is getting in touch with Mayo (ttestports).
If you want other sponsors though you're going to have to pitch your idea to them quite well -that means talking numbers and exposure - or else they won't be interested.
thx for tips.
Yeah since it is gonna be at my school. we will definitely have enough tables, chairs, power and equipment. The only things that I am really worried about are sponsors and the internet which is why im gonna try to do a test with like 10 people gaming at the same time on the internet
