Because probably noone will watch it, I'm just going to recount the most epic PvP I just had.

Fine I will recap it.

It was a PvP on Ohana (I randomed), and given how I don't like PvP, I went for my standard PvP build:


Proxy 2 gate! Unfortunately, he scouted it with his probe after seeing nothing in my base, and promptly puts down a gateway and forge. (His pylon is on the low ground because I was Random I suppose)



We play a game of Snipe-the-pylon-with-probes-while-I-rebuild-another for a while, which actually worked in delaying my Zealot because I was dumb and didn't put a second pylon soon enough.



Using my excellent Grandmaster skills, I trap my first zealot by rallying it into the worst possible location. I ended up having to destroy that pylon, which again unpowered my Gateways.


He then began to chip away at the Artosis pylon while I tried to deny him, but his cannon made that difficult.
He eventually managed to destroy that pylon, and with that, the proxy 2 gate fell flat in my face.

But wait. It's not over. I saw him throw down a Nexus, and back home I had already put up 2 gases and my Cybernetics Core. Being so far behind, I knew what I had to do.


I decided to go for proxy Stargate.

However, because all of my resources were invested in that, I had nothing to defend this:


That bugger was cannoning out my base!

In my mind it wasn't over yet - I would have Void Rays popping soon, and I'm hoping because he spent so much on cannons, he doesn't have much Stalkers. And also because he spent so much on offensive cannons, he would have no defensive cannons.



As his cannon line finally reached my mineral line, I immediately pulled my probes out of my base to salvage as much as I could. I left 3 probes mining gas and barely managed to get my 4th Void Ray out.

I quickly attacked his base with my 4 Void Rays, and I was right - there was nothing there. He went one Stalker which I disposed off easily, and his probes evacuated to my base.

So now I am in a sticky situation. I am left with just a pylon and 2 stargates, 4 Void Rays, 6 Probes that made it out of my base, and 35 minerals. I couldn't build anything nor train anything.
He had a Nexus in my base and a swarm of cannons defending the leadup to it. Is it over?

Now up to this point I have never used Void Rays against Cannons before. I mean, how often does that happen? I didn't know how it would work, but I was out of options.

The cannon fell easily, and he had neglected to cannon up the 'air entrance' via the top! As I easily disposed of the 2 cannons you see that block my way to the Nexus, I saw him evacuate his Probes out of my /his base. I didn't think much about it at this point, I just wanted to take out the Nexus.

Then.

I realized what he was doing.

HE WAS MAKING A BEELINE TOWARDS MY ONLY 3 BUILDINGS LEFT!!!

PANIC MODE!!!

I flew my Void Rays over to defend it, but given how freaking slow they were, he took out the pylon... I am 2 Stargates away from defeat!

I tried to distract him with my Probes there, but after a brief consideration he didn't take the bait and went back to work on my bulidings. Shit!!




My Void Rays arrive - but surely 13 Probes and 3 Zealots can take out 2 Stargates quicker than VoidRays can clear them up?

ROFL NO.

I focus-fired the Zealots first to remove the highest DPS, and my VRs made quick work of the Probes and he realized he was not going to be able to take out the Stargate in time and panic-ed and ran.

I chased his Probes down and killed all but one, which escaped into his base and built a Nexus in the middle of nowhere. At this point, I realized all I had to do now was to slowly clear his cannons, cautiously and safely.



YESS

He realizes that too, and taps out.

I'm still in disbelief that I managed to come from behind and win that game. Looking back, he did have poor Probe production while defending that proxy gate (floating a lot of minerals), and he failed to properly cannon his re-built base. A pretty fun game overall (for me, at least) ^^
