I had a chance to go to a Texan Wedding last weekend.

I took some photos so I'm looking for some criticism as it's my first time shooting at an event like this.

Oh and my friend's band, Emberville, just released their first single/MV.

Not too sure what genre of music it is but here it is!

Re: Wedding Photography

I'm no pro at all, but here's my 2 cents.

When taking shots, have a clear idea who your subjects are and what you want in your frame. This eliminates a lot of distracting elements that doesn't need to be there (e.g. other people/objects etc.).
Understandably, it's a crowded environment and it's hard to get into a good position. But hey, it's a digital camera, just keep snapping =P

You seem to favour off-centre framing. Personally not a fan of it, but I really liked that shot of the couple with the haystack on the left.

Lastly, don't take backshots, especially of the couple when they were exchanging vows. Just seems to take away the focus (non camera term btw) from BOTH and place it only on the guy.

Oh dear, I seem to be criticizing a lot
Hope you don't take it the wrong way, you're more than welcome to disagree with my opinions. >.<

No, it's okay, I asked for it

Yeah, I'm not a fan of straight up shots, I like to shoot things in their natural form. Not going up to their face and forcing them to smile etc, I had a 35mm so I couldn't do a peeping tom aha

The vow scene, I wish I had better angle I was pretty much in one location (one seat) so I don't get in the real photographers way

maybe i should clarify. taking natural shots is fine (i prefer it over posing for a picture). I
t's just that most of the time, keeping your subject in the centre of the frame is usually better unless there is a real reason to keep them off-centre (imo).

Shots of the kids were really nice too I should add

I like offcentre, it makes me think of the rule of thirds
