It's time for a change!

I have always used Eddie, or some similar variant for games, as that's what everyone calls me, and in the past I'd only play games with real life mates (esports is still pretty new to me), but Eddie is too common online

I've never really liked FaDeEdOne. I made it quickly after joining clan FaDe. I wanted to rep the clan in the title, while still forming a name in itself, thus i read it as faded one (with an Ed thrown in there to represent my name/gaming origins). However it's too often confused. I don't like people calling me EdOne. Weird name...

I no longer like having a clan tag as part of my id. I personally don't rate clans as serious business, more fun/community bonding. This is my personal view/preference, i understand if others see clans differently. This laid back/casual/welcoming atmosphere was the reason i joined FaDe long ago, when i was new to sc2, and i've had a great time with FaDe over the journey. However, my reasons for joining no longer apply. I now have lots of friends across many clans and teams, so in my case, i don't feel a clan suits my needs anymore. It's hard to explain, I guess i don't feel comfortable tied down to one section, and don't want to label myself. Anyway, point is my next id shall be absent of a clan tag.

I come from a background of traditional team sports, and would love to be involved in a similar system in sc2. I plan to continue to push myself to improve at our game, and aim to join a 'proper' team (Either established or up and coming). I see teams as completely different to community clans, so would add a tag to my ID if/when i join one, whether that be soon, or HOTS. I've come a long way from starting as a Silver league player. I now hold two SEA GM accounts (achieved this when GM was full), play some decent level Masters players on NA - despite not playing there much (aim to ladder NA more in the future. Would play KR, but lag is really bad on my connection), and have beaten/are capable of beating SEA 'pro'/team players. It would also be awesome to cheer on team mates live at LAN events. So i think aiming for a team is the logical next step.

While many people in FaDe are amazing individuals (especially those i've been lucky enough to meet in person), and are really cool to hang out in game/have a chat with, i feel the clan and i are no longer compatible in our goals for a competitive environment, and i aren't/won't get the opportunities i seek to improve as a player/be part of a team in FaDe. To date, most FaDe players don't seem to be active in the LAN scene, which is my focus as a player/spectator. So i shall stepping back from representing clan FaDe, and will forge my own new path. I won't be joining any other SEA clan. I'll still be part of FaDe community, but not as an active player. I wont play in any clan wars/team format, but i'll be cheering them on, and still always be up for a chat/game. We have some good up and coming players to watch out for, and i wish them well. FaDe have got some big things planned for the future, plus a strong core group of players/leaders, so i'm confident they'll achieve what they set out to do, and continue to be one of the most welcoming casual clans in SEA.

My own sc2 game time now will be focused on improving my play, and aiming to attend more LAN/tournaments where possible. So all that's left is to pick a new name, and begin the next chapter.

The new ID I'm leaning towards is DevianT

Although i expect, and hope many of my sc2 friends, and the sc2sea/Australian community still call me Eddie
