Hello again people! It's time for me to flex my knuckles in a loud cracking fashion as I unleash the next installment of my blog series!!

A lot has happened since my last rendition of events (http://www.sc2sea.com/blogs/showentr...tryuserid=2533).

I'm gonna switch it up here and give you a TL;DR at the start so if you don't want to read the same ol' "Omg wcs was awesome" etc then I'll hopefully save you a lot of time!

I've been to a barcraft for GSL finals (worst finals ever)

I've been to WCS Sydney where I got to meet (with an erection) Tastosis, HD and Painuser (ebbing erection).

I've barely played the actual game for around 2 months, pretty much since ACL Melbourne.

Lastly, musings and thoughts on life and other elitist sounding bull shit that I rather like spouting sporadically.

So, without further ado, let us begin!

Barcrafts are ******* sick. Make no mistake. If you haven't been to one, then go to one. Having frequented many bars in my time (not really) and having seen many various sports that keep me riveted to my seat whilst in said bars (again, not really) I was amazed at how normal yet at the same time incredibly sensational it was to walk into the Barcraft venue and to see Sarcraft on one of their various television devices (these things people prior to computers).

Perhaps even more astonishing was before I actually came to be in the reserved area for nerd and nerdettes alike, were the 20 or so old blokes destroying a couple bevs gazing in wonder at the screen filled with creep, zerglings, and "funny lookin fuckers" one drunken fellow so aptly named.

That was about the most notable thing from barcraft. The finals itself were 5 dumb games of PvP I little understood beyond a Masters level and enjoyed even less. Afterwards we got korean bbq with Infeza, Sunset, various fighting game players who's name alludes me now and a few other people who I also forget (terribly sorry about that chaps!).

So now we come to the main event and one that will tire my fingers, WCS Sydney!

HOOOOOOOLLLYYYYY SHIIIITTTTTTTTTTTT where the **** do I start. This weekend was so huge filled with so many various moments my tiny shaved skull had to remove many of various precious drunken alcohol female depraving memories that for some reason it decided to keep. Which for my conscience is probably a good thing.

But since I'm a (relatively) logical dude I spose I'll start from when I landed in Sydney.
I got in at Thursday and not very much happened till Myself, Champi, Dippa, Richard, Nom and Miles went out for dinner at some snazzy steakhouse place that we had to wait an hour for a table for!
Needless to say the food was good and we somehow managed to get a girl to come along, but still didn't get 500 viewers on twitch (hur hur hur).
Dippa and Richard most generously shouted us dinner which was so very gentlemanly and I wish to repay the favor!

After dinner I got in contact with Techtron so I could crash on their couch, and whilst we were in the hotel lobby talking shit (the players had recently just had dinner with all the acl staff and casters), and that's when I saw him. Casually strolling across the lobby floor, a swagger only someone of importance can pull off without looking like a ****-wit. It was Tasteless! My brain froze, my heart rate (after skipping several beats) hastened, my stomach dropped as butterflies magically appeared inside it. I couldn't believe it. After seeing him cast for 2 years, having great memories of him at live events and for so long wondering what it would be like to see him, here he was, in the flesh right before me! Chicken shit emotions occurred inside me, after all, what do you say to one of your idols? I continued to talk to Lucas and stared in awe.

Friday morning we went to the event bright and early and no where near enough sleep (around 2 hours). If you recall my tail of walking into various ACLs over the past year, which you should mother fuckers if you read my blogs! Then you'll know how awesome and indescribable the feelings were. They all pale in comparison to walking into the venue at WCS Sydney.

The stage was massive and looked exactly like all the flawlessly crafted sets from other WCS events.

The plethora of cables and technical looking things backstage had my mind confused and my eyes cross-eyed within seconds at trying to comprehend them.

The player area was about 10x bigger than you could ever need it to be.

The seating area, tho empty, was not hard to picture with hundreds of euphoric nerds cheering on their favorite players.

I had no idea what to do with myself. So I just sat in one of the chairs and gazed in wonder.

Snapping out of my dumbstruck awe I went to find my friends who were lucky (or skilled) enough to qualify. It was great to see everyone again who I hadn't since ACL Melbourne! Whilst I myself had not qualified for this event which I would later feel like ending myself seeing how awesome it was, it was still so good to ask everyone how their preparation was for the event, what they had prepared, what they were worried about, all that kinda stuff. I ****** LOVE the spirit of competition and living vicariously through them was still an amazing feeling for me.
Then for the second time of many this weekend I got what I imagine to be are the symptoms of seeing your one true love for the first time (no homo). Tastless, Artosis, HD and Painuser strolled through the doors lookin o' so debonaire.

It's a funny thing when you see people looking around not knowing who to talk to but you know by the way they act they expect to be greeted, and that's exactly what happened when the fanboy inside me let loose and walked up to them to introduce myself. Let me start of by reiterating, WHAT THE **** DO YOU SAY TO YOUR IDOLS? Secondly, however, they made it very easy for me to talk to them. They smiled as I approached and shook my hand and asked me various questions I can no longer remember due to stage fright. Beyond these initial memories not a whole lot sticks out.

A few include: waiting anxiously at the players area door (we were no longer allowed in) to be relayed information on how the series between Techtron and Rossi was going. Edge is probably the worst person in existence, as every 2 minutes he would turn around, give me a thumbs up, then proceed to do nothing for 5 minutes, before giving me a weird look, then repeat this process several times. Lucky for him he's an adorable babe and top bloke haha but in seriousness, after watching the replays, the games were ******* intense and I would have done an even worse job.
Friday night I forget what we did, but I think it revolved around having a quiet beer or two in a pub.

This is gettin really long (that's what she said) so Saturday went like this: Sick games all day with a hyped as **** croud, the highlight being when Bigbird somehow pulled something out of his big yellow bird ass to secure the second game vs Iaguz, we all rushed the stage in wondrous glee and got into his player booth to give him a big ol hug http://a6.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot...97142281_o.jpg Sorry to Iaguz, I realized afterwards that this could have been taken as pretty bad mannered and meant it in no such way, was merely super excited for our team mate!

Sunday again was quite similar, up until mafia vs tgun, in what was probably the most nail-biting zvz I have yet to have seen. The actual games themselves were ******* nuts, but excitement was amplified by about a trillion since the winner would qualify for WCS global finals. The absolute balls of steel and zero fucks given by mafia to execute a ling-bane all in against tgun on Cloud kingdom when being 1-0 down was simply amazing.
Mafia, by most accounts, is a reserved player in zvz who likes defensive play whilst droning greedily and holding of timings. NOT THIS TIME MOTHER FUCKERS I THOUGHT. The all-in worked and the score was tied 1-1. Going into game 3 on Ohana I was so tremendously nervous for both players, as Mafia is a surrogate clan mate of mine in TA, and Tgun is a guy whom I enjoy talking to and have a lot of respect for.

Now, forgive me as in extremely exciting circumstances my memory fails me, but mafia got a good advantage relatively early in the game, then proceeded to try and hulk smash his way into Tguns' spines and infestors, evening the game. It then went back and forward, culminating in all of Tguns' burrowed roaches being on top of Mafias infestors and army. With fantastic observing skills from Infeza, the crowed was shown the plethora of shadows that burrowed roaches emanate, but that Mafia didn't notice! For about 20 seconds my heart stopped, and I mentally willed myself to force Mafia to morph an overseers. This didn't happen and Tgun took him by surprise, but Mafia did ok, and his previous lead meant he could re-max faster and he took the game 2-1.

For the second time that weekend TA members rushed the stage to congratulate one of their fellow compatriots. Holding high the TA logo that Miles put together (and whoever else helped sorry I'm not sure exactly who).

After this paramount of excitement and energy, the finals between Glade and Mafia felt a little flat, but I'm not particularly surprised.

After this we all went out and got drunk n shit, massive TA train trollin the streets again etc etc.

I left about 3 o'clock and walked about 30 minutes home so I could bask in the bliss that was this weekend, making sure I committed all the memories so when I was 50 and e-sports is the biggest thing in the world I could look back and tell my kids "I remember when..." As I firmly believe that life is about taking the time to stop, take a deep breath, look around you and truly enjoy the moments that make your life memorable.

Arriving home at 9 pm on Monday night I was exhausted. The longest and best weekend of my life over, sickness and malnourishment kicked in and I was fucked for the next week or so haha. Totally worth it.

After all this excitement one would think that my passion for the game would spark me to play a billion games on Korea and get better, but this is not what happened. Instead, I booked a trip to Europe. At the moment, I don't have much to practice for, with me not being here for the EB-ACL games event, and which I probably wouldn't qualify for. And for a while I've felt as if my skill hasn't really improved.

Sure, my knowledge of the game is quite good, at least I like to think. But my technical skills and control of units has always been my downfall, and despite hard work, they still suck ass. Coupled with a few other problems such as my wrists/forearms, lack of time due to other en devours including but not limited to my other hobbies: Counter-strike: GO, bodybuilding (albeit not necessarily in that order). Sc2 atm just a fun thing I watch before I go to bed.

I imagine when I get back from Europe and HOTS beta date gets announced I'll keen the **** up and start playing the 20 games or so a day that I used to, but for now I'll just sporadically play for funzies, except for the few days leading up to the Melbourne LAN on the 9th of September which I'm looking forward to, cauz lans are awesome! Despite not being particularly active in the game, I still love being on the forums and being apart of the community and love Starcraft in general.
The thought that I could ever leave Starcraft is laughable, and it was something I realised at WCS Sydney when I was returning from the bathroom and could hear the roar of the crowed as they cheered.

And I think that's about it.

As always, thanks for reading the wall of text, so until next time,
BYEEEEEEE
