Unfortunately at the end of this week I'll be taking my redundancy at work, due to a restructure of the business and despite repeated words that they "really do want to keep me" and "they want to keep [my] social media skills", I'll be gone.
This does however free me up for more time in gaming, notably casting and even a little coaching (of lower level players, I've no illusion that I'm no where near a pro! ). So if you are in need of someone to cast an event from September 1st, please be sure to let me know. I can do live casting and Vods from replays. As some of you may have seen on my livestream unfortunately because of ausfailia I don't have the best connection which in turn means the stream quality isn't fantastic; however I have a great deal of HDD space that I like to record locally to when I'm live, and I can then upload to my Youtube account for later viewing, which hopefully makes up for that.
If you do need me, a bit of a warning would be nice however given that I won't really be doing anything, ad hoc casting is obviously possible.
If anyone needs help with Dota2 I've been playing for a while and can give tips with that too
I'll be looking for work in this time though - if anyone has any leads on opportunities to be a social media manager/community manager in the Melbourne area (city or western Melbourne is best!) please do let me know.
It's still happening don't worry! But as you can imagine I've been busy scurrying about trying to see if I could salvage anything at work, also lately I've had some very sad family issues that came up which took up a lot of my time.
I'll certainly still be doing that challenge, most likely next week once work is gone, and I get to go grocery shopping!
Sure, but why would you try and convince him not to do something he wants to do? There are plenty of competitions around that he could potentially cast.
Telling him to volunteer was pretty random as well xD

Oh of course you should always do what you want to do. It's just "food for thought" as he says if Duck wants to help!
Casters I know in SEA: Duckville, Zepph, System, Zain, Baldie, Flamga, Benji and myself.
Tourney Admins I know in SEA: Dox (who has quit), Arnor (CityHunter) and Frequency (who only runs ADL lans)
It's just an option man no one's telling anyone to do anything.

Exactly, it's all good I understand and I know it was just a "thought"!
I've been doing it for so long now it's a bit easier for me to work into - though I'm not putting myself above volunteering - the whole point of that OP was just to say... "if you need a caster... I have loads of free time now" kinda thing - because people have been asking me recently, but because I work(ed) very early in the morning I've had to decline many opportunities much to my dismay; so now I thought I'd just let the community know I'll be far more available if needed!
As for running my own tourney... I'm not sure about that but I suppose I could give it a go; I'm terrible at organising things sometimes though haha. We'll see what happens! Thanks for your support everyone
Nothing stopping you to admin a tournament you cast ;P
True that! I've done it before, it's a bit of a pain but certainly do-able. Usually you get the guy you're casting with to stream though, that way you don't see chat spam or challonge being updated or anything like that during games.
just cast if you want to, there are always smaller events and even some larger ones that can't find casters because of schedules etc
I'm going to get back into casting when I can too

I didn't try to convince him not to do something he wants to do. I was just highlighting the current situation of supply and demand. The phrase "food for thought" literally means, "here's an idea to think about."
And going as far as "running your own tournament" wasn't what I was trying to suggest. There are plenty of people and organisations who are already wanting to run tournaments, there just isn't enough people out there to help them do it. It's easy. There's nothing to it.
It just seems like everyone wants to be a caster and that's all.

Haha, oh yea, I have had to do that once, not the best!

Casting is the easiest thing to get into and less responsibility, for everything else, there's mastercard
