I'm Steve Hunt or "FaDeEvetS", the maphacker who got caught out in 2011.
I hacked on and off for a long time on the ladder, eventually deluding myself into thinking it didn't give me that big an advantage etc etc.
This is my first attempt at an apology which will take a long time to fulfill.
Since leaving sc2sea in december-ish of 2011, i took about 5-6months off sc2, except for the occasional 4v4 games etc.
Around 2-3 months ago now, i started laddering up NA, i was unsure whether i wanted to get 'good' on NA then come to sea, or just stick to NA...Since then i've come to the decision that i would like to eventually be a part of this community again, and will provide anything that it takes to do that.
After attending WCS Australia and seeing how the community and players have grown, I'd be extremely disappointed in myself if i didn't try to be a part of it again, however i know it'll take time, and even then i don't expect to be 'welcomed' by everyone.
If, after time for consideration etc the general consensus is that the community doesn't want me, i'll leave the SEA server (atleast in 1v1 ladder).
around 1-2 months ago, after 'training up' etc on NA, i joined team solarity (sR) in an effort to gain practice partners etc of similiar skill.
**Please note* that sR were unaware of my previous alias, and had nothing to do with me 'hiding' myself. If Grim wishes me to leave sR, i will do so, as i don't want to spoil the teams reputation. Honestly, they had NOTHING at all to do with it.
I will provide replay packs of my ladder games, and perhaps do services for the community (coaching or something?) if wanted.
I genuinely want to work for acceptance and forgiveness in the SEA region and community, and apologise deeply for the things that i both said and did.
I'm attaching a handful of replays to this blog, and as i ladder i'll add more if requested. I'll potentially do weekly or monthly blogs with replays and step by step analysis if that would be wanted.
I will begin streaming ladder sessions periodically, (however can't for a few days due to internet usage - can stream on saturday)
I'm extremely sorry to the community that i lied to all of you for so long, especially people like PiG who i feel i used to have a strong rapport with, all the members of clan FaDe, Nirvana, Shortizz, maynarde and all my close friends. But as well to every single person i played against, lied to and mislead.
EDIT: I got an 'attachement files could not be uploaded due to the file folder not being writeable" or something error while trying to upload replays with this blog. I'll provide them soon.
**EDIT: replays have been added to the replay section of the site.
Wow never would have guessed that we knew before your new hosts did 0.o
I would urge due diligence with regards to sRWinter as he had all but one person from FaDe fooled and ready jump on a proverbial grande to defend him - hell even PiG.
I thought through that whole episode that he would have learned a lesson or matured somewhat
Sorry to say not off to a good start thus far but that said I do hope to be proven wrong
FaDe looks forward to crushing sRWinter and sR in future wars and tournaments
I completely agree with what you have said, and it was hard for me to decide whether or not to condone this behavior in sR. However, I do accept the invitation and so to say : "Let the games begin!"
Better than some of the apologies I have seen here before. Time will tell if you are sincere. Hiding your identity on your return is obviously a dumb start mate.

You know he can totally hide that he is evetS and continue for the next few years without ANYONE noticing?
I think that the hiding of Identity is being taken way to harshly. Imagine how hard it is for him as a person to stand up and openly admit he was wrong and that he is sorry.
To be sincerely sorry and to ask for forgiveness and acceptance is one of the hardest things a person can ever do.
I hope that he can continue on with his return to Sea regardless of clan or otherwise and make a positive name for himself.
pro tip, help out the newbies, biggest way to make a difference for someone starting to play sc2.
What made you want to stop hacking? Was it just being caught or did you come to terms with your reliance on the software 'crutch'?
- At first being caught obviously, but in all reality i could've continued on NA or kr under an alias or something, However being 'exposed' forced me to rethink the hacking situation and i decided i wanted to get legitimediatly 'good'
What made you get a hack in the first place? Pressure to be a better player? The feeling of having an edge? The risk of being caught? Something else?
At first it was just curiosity tbh, and then i did some customs with it just for the fun/lols etc. A few weeks later i actually forgot they were on and searched for a ladder game, which kinda started the whole....ball rolling. I DID however not hack in any of the masters cup etc tournies that i entered, for the tiny amount that helps my case.
I'm willing to do coaching etc, but i'd probably be more comfortable offering it as a free service rather than the reward for winning a bsg etc, as i've never done any coaching before and am not sure how effective the time spent with me coaching would be, saturation, vision, supply blocks, scouting? When they're not zerg it'll just be me winging what the responses should be
s agree with annn at least he came out to and revealed his identity he can just start new with winter but he didnt just hide his identity instead he told everyone about it that actually take balls to do lol
Welcome back steve, i hope you`ve learned your lesson. More than happy to play if you need a practise partner although i must admit im very bad these days haha.
Ive never seen anyone improve as fast as you back in the day, hopefully you can prove it soon with some decent Lan performance soon!
