Hello again everyone! Boredom has gotten the better of me at work so I decided to indulge in some good ol' narcissism and decide to write some things about my life since everyone must be dying to read them!
The tale ended with me coming back from ACL Sydney with a bent back from being rammed quite hard in places the sun doesn't frequently shine, being promoted to grandmaster, and just practicing (and subsequently raging) in general!
The new story begins with what is probably my biggest achievement in gaming so far which is to be picked up by a "sponsored team" Teknicity! When combatez replied to my application with encouraging words that I would most likely be picked up I was pretty happy and jubilant that this video came to mind "http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VLnWf1sQkjY" Amusing bodily functions aside I was thrilled, Finding out my team mates would be none other than TA Champi who I had the pleasure of meeting at ACL sydney and in general TA chat, and the other was Bigbird who I was relatively unfamiliar with but heard he had done well in a few comps here and there and was excited to see what he had to offer. Speaking with the lads they seem really keen and have practiced quite a bit together so the team looks promising so totally excited to see what else might be coming up in the future! (not an announcement of announcement, my name isn't Dox )
Shortly after this I had to get prepared for ACL Melbourne regional finals. ACL Being the premier league in the country and qualifying for the last 2 group stages I felt pressured to qualify again. As the fate of the Nesteas would have it, it looked quite promising from my clouded eyes that I should qualify. Speaking to my cute lil friend (no homo) Lucas "zvt killer Techtron" Tan he said he most likely would not be attending, word on the grapevine was neither would Sam "Blink Stalker Fourby" Tham, or Johno "couldnt think of a funny adjective pinder" Pinder would also not be in attendance. Unfortunately I forgot about Pox who turned out to be a complete bad ass in the zvz match up, Deth, even tho I didn't get to play him as I was culled to the lower bracket by the Random (in both Race and play style I) Player Phoneheha (I jest he's actually quite good), and Techtron did decide to show up and pretty much use his Asian genes to chopstick everyone into pieces despite him being relatively inactive prior to the event.
Coming 4th I was pretty bummed as this event looked promising to place highly or possibly win (I do have a few fucked up and weird zvt cheeses in my belt. Actually I wouldn't say in my belt, I would say my belt comprises only of zvt cheeses as I can't play the match up properly to save myself), but most disappointing was that I barely managed to miss out on qualifying for the groups of ACL Melbourne and would have to go through the tumultuous open bracket where a few cheeses or ill fated luck and you could be out of ze tournament! Huge congratulations however to the players that qualified especially Pox, he got real good and looks like he put in a lot of practice to do so, major props to him! Lastly, sorry to phoneheha as I sorta punched the desk in angst at losing to yet another pvz 15 min phoenix into all-in 2 base play which I somehow seem to lose to all the time despite it being in my eyes a terrible build. I believe I might have apologised off-handedly but here it is in writing!
Ermmm so I think thats about it really in terms of actual news. Recently just being trying to log as many games in as possible as fixing lil positions and stupid shit I do and touching up my mechanics seems to be areas of my game where I'm lacking atm. Korea is a great server to do this on as any time you dun goofed and over commit slightly you pretty much die. Also trying to ladder on NA a whole bunch despite constant death threats from Terrans who Succumb to my retarded and cheesy ways (teehee) so that I can play against well known NA "pros" as I think that'd be pretty kewwwlll.
UmmMMMmMMM I think that may be about it. Goin Europe in September-ish for 2 months or so, depending on when ACL finals are (I will actually delay my trip so I can play in that).
Not seeing a girl anymore who I particularly fancied so that's fairly sigh worthy. On a completely unrelated note I've never drunk more and played more sc2 in my life I think hehe. But having to find sugarwalls in random places is quite tiring, so I can't really remember the last time I went out properly.
I propose ACL Melbourne not going till 2am so we can go out afterwards!
Finally, and this time I think I mean it as it comes as an afterthought, i stretch my wrists/forearms but I still get a lot of pain, anything you guys have found that might help this? Also hurts when I go to the gym as well if that helps/anyone has the same problem >.<
Re: ACL Melbourne Regionals, Teknicity, Other goody goodness
Congrats on being picked up by Teknicity! Sorry to hear to didn't make it into the groups, tough luck. I hope you do well in the open brackets.
Sounds like what you have in your wrists/forearms is RSI (Repetitive Strain Injury) and the only way to cure it is to rest up i.e. afk. Although, you could try acupuncture which is great for relieving pain but a lot more costly than just taking a break from your computer.
Anyway, good luck with the future and I'll see you at ACL Melbourne.
Re: ACL Melbourne Regionals, Teknicity, Other goody goodness
^^v all good man, I was abit shocked at first when you hit the desk, but I could understand. Also, you apologised afterwards, and were plenty friendly the rest of the event, so I knew it was just general frustration. Was a pleasure to meet/play you
