Today I was privileged enough to be given the opportunity to cast the GPD Open #49. This was my first ever attempt at casting a live event via stream so I initially had to change a lot of settings. As the hours went on however I grew in confidence and began to make less mistakes in the casting. It was tough competing with the Eve Cup for viewers (which had around 300 all afternoon), however I was still very happy with the average 30 which were online at one time!
For those who watched the event you will already know this, but the winner of the event was the leader of my clan Fusion Slugs who managed to beat numerous 's in his quest for victory.
Anyone who is interested in having a look at my performance as a caster, have a look at the four and a half hour VOD below! Excuse the settings for the first few minutes.
In terms of my own development as a caster, I felt the opportunity gave me a great amount of experience and I would openly accept any feedback from anyone! Thanks a lot to Eddie for the opportunity and I would love to cast another one in the future!
Thanks in advance to those who have a look and leave feedback
Really glad you were able to get a live gig and look forward to seeing your growth. I'll work with you over the coming weeks to get your stream looking sexy and the best visual and audible quality it can be. I'll also share my growing knowledge with you so you can improve faster.
The great thing about casting is you can continuously develop if you are willing to put the time in - which I know you will - and the community recognizes this.
One thing I will say straight away and we can work on this in the coming weeks is trying to generate enthusiasm and excitement in yourself to a level which is noticeable by viewers. Once you get over the internal fear you look like a total idiot and allow yourself to get immersed in the game it makes a big difference.. and lets face it we casters do look like total idiots.. especially when someone walks into the computer room and sees you getting excited talking to a computer screen haha!

Thanks man, your support throughout all of my learning so far has been amazing!
I definitely look forward to working with you and all of your help, and you are right about excitement, it's something I am trying to work on!
Hmm... I can't really hear your voice inside the casts - though i'd love to...
But yeah, just some general advice -
1) Know the game well - Nothing worse than stepping into a matchup that you absolutely do not understand.
2) Practice listening to yourself - Always give yourself feedback of your casts. You will only improve if you can continue to beat yourself to it
3) Present it like you want someone to present it to you - This is for later - and more fancy cases where you might be casting to a bigger crowd like YouTube - Think about what other people might think when they hear your cast for the first time.
I was watching your cast through out the night when I wasn't playing and I found it very enjoyable, as some have said, enthusiasm levels could be abit higher at times, but i relies after hours and hours of casting might be abit difficult.
Also in regards to my pvz, just thought i had to say that in neither game did i cancel a cybernetics, both times were a gateway cancel. I built the 2nd gateway to fully wall off to stop and ling run bys, I cancel the 2nd gateway once the first one is complete to put a cybernetics there. Thus not changing the time on the cybernetics at all. Just thought i would say :P
Other then that defs enjoyed ur casting.. keep it up and good luck with it

Hey man.
I apologize for these mistakes. As a new caster I am trying to increase my game knowledge and therefore there were certain times where I made a mistake.
Thanks for your patience, understanding and feedback.
