Was looking forward to the Avengers all year till i started getting spammed by avenger trailers on twitch.tv (For some reason it was the only advertisement they showed every time i opened a stream for 30 seconds, for the WHOLE of last month) which made me completely not care about it. Talk about advertisements backfiring! And then I started bitching in the sc2sea chat and people pointed out you could simply download gods gift to the interwebz aka ad block and it was happily ever after. Now even the steel series ads on SC2SEA are blocked lol!!

Anyway so flash forward till today I see Mezza talking about it this morning and holy shit did I just block it so hard out of my mind that i ended up missing the opening of the most hyped superhero movie by a week? A fix was needed immediately and i promptly booked the tix and dragged chloe to see it! For Singaporeans - it was our first time watching at the "new" Lido shaw cinemas and it will be our last time. Seriously the screen is way too small it was a terrible "3d experience" like watching TV at home. Anyway Mezza basically sums up the movie spot on

• The Canadian Robin from How i met your mother" is there, yay!
• Iron man steals the show
• Joss watever(the buffy director) is the king of one liners (or was that iaguz who said that?)

Wouldn't say its "great" but it was definitely an enjoyable watch.

As for the "new" actors - I LOVED the guy who played Hulk, he had all that smart guy mannerisms down pat (like the speech phrasing smart guys use lol) and he reminded me of Dr Suresh from heroes, only thankfully he wasn't the most annoying character in existence. Intellect is not a super power! I really liked him, and the random thor bashing he did in Hulk mode when he was suddenly was able to control his actions somewhat lol *GASP PLOT HOLE*! Funniest moment was loki going into his "i'm a demigod you can't harm me speech" before getting interrupted by the hulk mid-sentence who just takes him and smashes him around like a rag doll. Also loved the loki adopted joke but damn you sc2sea chat for spoiling it JEEZ!!!

The other new guy Hawkeye was the most meh character ever, if all the ghostridah, daredevil and hulk movies were a character, they would be hawkeye meh meh meh. He should have stayed as a cameo on thor and not become a real character. Scarlett in jumpsuit for some reason sadly wasn't as hot as the previous movies and for some reason they decided to put some sexual tension between her and hawkeye! WTF i know they are the only single characters, since captain america is all heroic and squeaky clean so he apparently can't be "tainted" by women (lol) but cmon. Would have very much preferred to cut out hawkeye all together and give scarlett some more air time, perhaps some tension with captain america which involves using his shield strategically that would have been hot. There is so much eye candy for girls but none for us guys! Except Robin?! Thats the second best new character of the show!

As for the rest the chemistry was great. Iron man made the show look like "iron man and friends" and I must say that chris evans really looks the heroic / leader part too bad captain america was the worse marvel movie i've seen in years, i remember it was so bad i fell asleep and when i regained semi-consciousness I desperately tried to go back to sleep to escape it. In this show he is much more bearable. Thor is amazing as usual talking in his manly demi god voice.

Also wtf at agent phil dying that was most unnecessary character kill off ever! And iron man fighting for that purpose only to say he was an idiot after he died that was just awkward / bad comic timing i cringed lol. Im sure they could have thought of something else to "bring the team together" and I really liked agent phil as the funny messenger amd he was there since the very first movies

Oh yea stay at the end they have their usual sneak marvel trailers after the credits. The purple guy laughing is Thanos who becomes practically invincible if he wears the infinity gauntlet - with has like 5 different gems each holding immense power and if you have them all you're god like. So I'm really looking forward to The Avengers 2, whenever that may be. Although I would gladly watch thor 2 and iron man 3 first. I remember i was 9-10 years old when the infinity gaunlet comics came out and it left a super deep impression on me because Thanos killed like 3/4 the marvel hero population and all my favourite heros dying i was like wtfffff and then when he was defeated someone used one of the gems to undo his actions at the end or something like that so all was good in the world again.

Anyway my rambling is over. TLDR: Watch the avengers, its good!
