Some of you guys may already know, but I've been playing Starcraft 2 through prepaid cards and the Starter Edition. I've been asking my parents to buy me the full edition, and after a few days, they finally allowed me to buy the full edition (the NA/SEA edition, that costs around 60$)
But here's the problem. Every time I get what I've always wanted for a long time, for some reason it gets boring to me after some time. And by "after some time" I mean less than 6 months. I'm afraid that should I buy the full edition of Starcraft 2, I'd get bored with it after a while.
Not to mention that Diablo 3 is about to be released. When the open beta was released, I (foolishly) didn't play the Open Beta, and I thought I would regret it later (and I did T_T) .
I never played the previous Diablo games yet, but my sibling told me that I should get Diablo 3 instead of Starcraft 2. (I don't think he ever played Starcraft 2 online though)
So, now, I want to ask you guys. Should I get the full edition of Starcraft 2 now, or should I wait until Diablo 3 and buy that instead of Starcraft 2?

Re: Starcraft II and Diablo III - Which one to get?
Personally I'd go for D3. Thats what everyone is going to be playing for about 2 months or so. By the time you get more money for D3, it will be "old", so you wont get that new feeling from either game. Whats more the price of WoL might have come down even more after some time. Meanwhile to get your rts fix play custom games on starter edition or better... brood war
But seeing as how you havent played diablo 1 or 2, dont know how attached you are to the series....
Re: Starcraft II and Diablo III - Which one to get?
It really depends what kind of game holds your attention longest. I suppose you need to remember how versatile starcraft is. You don't have to ladder or play teams, there are countless custom maps and mini games that people have created as well as the campaign and challenges. They even supply you with the editor to make your own maps.
Diablo III of course is a lot more limited in that regard being a different kind of game, but personally I would get bored of D3 first. I played Diablo 2 and would play for maybe 2-3 weeks then drop it for a couple of months before feeling like grinding out my character again. It's a lot of the same thing...although I have to admit I haven't looked into D3 all that much so I don't know what else they have introduced into the game to improve it. I'm sure there's a lots of cool stuff. Maybe you should watch some first look videos on diablo 3 to see if it looks promising for you?

Flawless advice, are you ready?
- Purchase Diablo 3 (From Sc2sea.com of course :P) farm your toon up, then start maxing out your crafting, and get lucky with recepie drops.
- Craft some sick end game gear
- Sell for real money
- ???
- Purchase SC2
- ???
- You are now a proud owner of both games!

It is said that if you know your enemies and know yourself, you will not be imperiled in a hundred battles; if you do not know your enemies but do know yourself, you will win one and lose one; if you do not know your enemies nor yourself, you will be imperiled in every single battle.

Re: Starcraft II and Diablo III - Which one to get?
Eh, I don't know too much about Diablo 3. I played the open beta and enjoyed it and will be purchasing a copy.
However, if I had to choose between either SC2 or Diablo 3. I'd go for SC2. Only because Diablo 3 actually has an "end-game." Whenever I play games and finish it, that's it.... I don't play them anymore. But with SC2, it's competitive and you can always keep improving your game.
I'm not sure if this is correct as I don't know too much about D3, but I don't think D3 is targeted at the "competitive" gamers. Isn't D3 just like Skyrim which once you finish the game there isn't anything to do? Or is it like WOW where they forever keep adding content?
Re: Starcraft II and Diablo III - Which one to get?
Finish Skyrim? ha...ha...ha. If Diablo 3's skill curve is anything like Diablo 2, you complete the game and can then progress to redoing the same campaign for better equipment/more levels where the difficulty has been enhanced (nightmare and Hell Difficulties respectively). Personally I would recommend Starcraft II, but at the same time if getting the money for a game is a restricting factor, you may find when the Heart of the Swarm expansion is released you can not afford to buy it, and thus will lose most if not all enjoyment from starcraft 2 (presuming it does just about kill Wings of Liberty Ladder and Custom Map scene, which happened with brood war, and with Frozen Throne for WC3.).
In Short: If you dont think you will be able to afford the HotS expansion for starcraft 2, i would recommend buying Diablo 3 instead. If you think you can afford HotS when it is released, buy Starcraft 2.
