Well, lets just start off by saying it's been one frustrating day.......
Anyway lets begin with how my day started
When I woke up in the morning it I was keen as jelly beans to get stuck straight into my Bootcamp program. First thing I did was jump in the shower to wake up and go down to the shops to get some cereal to start my day off along with a nice big glass of Orange Juice!
Getting amped up to play some SC2 I wanted to warm my hands up first on the SC2Gears "Mouse Practice Game." May I just say, I only just realized your meant to right click on the red dots.... durrrp! Before I wasn't clicking the red ones at all as I was losing points for "left clicking" on them. haha!
Once my hands were all warmed up I proceeded to load up SC2 in anticipation to learn some new builds! I gotta admit, I was pretty pumped up and excited to start as I knew I wouldn't have any interruptions from the girlfriend as she is on holidays. So at this point everything was running smoothly until I played my first game.........
May I just say, I HATE MY F&^KING COMPUTER!...... Yep first game my computer crashed! Blue Screen of Death and I have no idea how to fix it. Pretty sure I actually need a new Graphics Card, the BSOD is telling me nvddkldm.exe (something like that) has crashed which is basically a service that supports my graphics card. Before anyone asks, yes I tried updating my GFX drivers and I having been dealing with the crap AAAALLLLLL DAAAAAYYY! So no fix as of yet
However, I wasn't going to let this ruin my plan. I restarted my computer and went straight into ladder mode.... again!
Now before I go on, I should let you know that today was solely to focus on learning these builds. I didn't care about scouting and reacting at all as I simply just wanted to learn the builds.
T v Z - I have been practicing the reactor hellion fe build. May I just say, so many Zergs seem to favour infestors over Mutalisks nowadays! Whats with that? I was quiet comfortable defending Muta harass, you could more of less say it was my comfort zone to defend Muta harass.
T v T - Oh god, this has a been a blunder for me today. My eyes were on the notepad more then they were on the screen! LOL! I just can't seem to get the food counts embedded into my brain! I think I'm going to need much more T v T practice with my 1 Rax FE build.
T v P - Wow.... all I can say is WOW! I know in the previous blog I said I'd work on both the 1 Rax FE build and the 2 Rax pressure transition build. But, because the all-in build has had me interested for a while now, this all all I have been practicing in my T v P matches. I have been executing this build imo with Bronze level execution, yet taking wins off Platinum level Protoss. Once I can stop looking at my book for the food counts, I'm going to love having this build up my sleeve!
Now, in the next blogs to come I won't ramble on shit like I have here and get straight to matches and discuss where I need to improve. However, currently I don't think there is much to look into yet as I'm just trying to learn the builds atm.
But.... I will mention one replay.
This was a T v P match on "Korhal Compound" where I executed the best all-in build I have done all day. Yes the initial pressure did loads of damage, but from this replay I learned a valuable lesson;
If you can hide your buildings and army without any risks... do it! For those who watch this replay, yes I did LOADS of damage with my intial pressure. All because he didn't spot my 2nd Rax AND he didn't spot how many units I had early on. The fact he also went for an early expand I'll admit contributed to this builds success. Now I won't spoil too much for you guys as I think the replay is worth watching, but I will post up this screen shot of after game abuse from my Protoss opponent.
(Press Ctrl and + to zoom in on picture)
There is also more cranky comments from my opponent in-game. I did have a bit of a giggle about it, but I won't spoil for you. Oh, before I forget here is the link to d/l the match and watch it;
Usually I'd go ahead and upload all the games I have played today for you guys to crit me on. But atm, i don't think it's even worth it as I'm STILL trying to actually learn the openings and remember the food counts.
However, I will still post up my SC2 gear stats for the day; (Games where my comp crashed are also included)
Games played: 17 (My aim was to play 30, but my computer kept crashing ><)
TvP w/r: 42%
TvZ w/r: 50%
TvT w/r: 25%
So, yeah.... you could say this was a terrible day for me. But, taking into consideration of learning new builds plus my computer crashing throughout some games. I think this is OK as at the least I made a start on learning these builds.
Well, that's pretty much all I have for this entry. Sorry if it wasn't exciting guys but I'm just a little tired atm from trying to figure out how to fix this PC. I promise once I can fix this piece of crap, I'll have more quality content, but as for now I'm pretty much on a low.
Oh before I go, I should leave you guys with this... http://www.lunatruth.com/ I just watched Apollo 18, very interesting Movie. If you like conspiracies I'm sure you will love this and I recommend the Movie. Yes, I switched this Movie on after raging at my computer for crashing 2 Starcraft games in a row! LOL!
Its nice that you have a tvp win rate above 30% thats rare for terrans keke. also what are you doing after hellion expo? polt style or standard 10m tanks
I go standard Marine/Tank atm, just to work on my macro. My macro is worst in T v Z atm by far :s But with this I play very much reactionary in the timings of when I do attack. A simple example would be that, I wouldn't pressure him at all if I'm on the same amount of bases as he is other then the odd drop or two to keep him on his toes. But other then that, just trying to focus on macro atm.
EDIT: If my comp didn't crash, my T v P would be much better. All T v P matches I did lose today were due to my computer crashing :s It's quiet annoying since I wanted more accurate results.
I personally love the way DeMuslim thinks about TvT when playing marine-tank. He delays his tanks until he starts a third command center similar to TvZ and starts production off multiple factories at a time. So it cuts out a lot of that transitional period where you are investing in tanks and siege mode and are vulnerable with only 1-2 tanks out.
Hey Erasmus, yeah that the build your talking about is the one I'm learning. However, unlike Demuslims build I am slightly delaying my bio ups in favour of a faster 3rd expansion. Can't remember who I stole this build off now, I think I got it off Polt iirc.
demu favors mech TvT, his tvz is similar to polts i bit more risky though. I saw mkp doing alot of marine into 3rd base then tanks in tvt though you go 3 fact not 2 :S

Well, he plays both. Did you see the video where DeMuslim explains TvT engagements (I posted it on the ToR facebook group)? He also just walks through his build and how to do the tank transitions etcc. with it. Really helpful. Shouldn't be hard to find on youtube with some searching.
I don't do exactly his build or anything. I like reaper expanding, but just explaining his thought processes with regards to how/when to engage and how/why he transitions out of the bio opening into tanks is all suuuper helpful.
