SO! My last blog was about me whinging how my ZvZ is so bad. So first I'll begin with a little update on that.
My issue is micro. I am a Gold level player through above-average macro and mechanics, but my micro and decision making is horrible. Of course, ZvZ for the first 6 - 10 minutes (all opinion, feel free to post yours) is intense micro if there's any sort of rush. I kept failing miserably since I would attempt 15 hatch, and then could not hold any rushes whatsoever. I eventually knuckled down and started practicing against bots to see if there were any half-decent 1b rush expands I could do without being all-in. I eventually settled on a 30/7roach push expand if I didn't scout any super fishy business. This has worked for a while now and of course I have practiced many deviations of this build in order to not solely rely on it.
NOW! My next gold is to achieve platinum by the end of the year. Currently I am silver rank 4 and I am pretty confident that I will be moving into gold soon. I am practicing hard and trying to figure out as much of the math by myself as possible (doing maths at uni, I can't help it :P). Anyway enough bragging. My current struggle is ZvP macro matches. As bronze and silver players are bad, I never had trouble against protoss because my openings were very solid. Now, though, I face the typical lazy zerg's problem -- forcefields! <insert Sen>
At the moment the only way I have been winning ZvPs against gold+ Protoss is by doing very early 1-1 roach pushes. If they fail and I am forced into the macro game however, this is where things become problematic. Forcefields propose bring back my issue of micro. To avoid being completely torn apart by forcefields, I believe I must micro burrowed roaches, keep hydras safe, make sure corruptors kill colossi asap and occasionally doing zergling surrounds. Multi-tasking isn't too much of an issue for me, but microing the units is (if that makes sense). I hope that the more I practice this micro the better I will become at it.
If anyone wants to add me on SEA for a match, feel free (I will play anybody of any skill level ) my deetz are in my signature.
www.twitter.com/elimzke -- I occasionally stream, feel free to point out my mistakes or steal builds from me (yeah because silver-level builds are heaps good hey)

Don't rush if your goal is to improve in macro games.
Mass roaches with good macro should work uP until high diamond or better (did for me)..Not that I recommend this, just saying better macro > all.
You keep sayings it's your micro ... Micro is worth very little in sc2 before the very highest of play. You may think you have above avg mechanics and macro, but these are worth 90% of your wins in sc. Look at fxoSHeth (one of the top NA Zerg) he streams he doesn't even barely micro .... Just a-moves
Against p I 15gas 15 pool and pull gas out at 100, get speed, queen, 4 lings (2 sets). 20 or 21 hatch during queens first inject then drone hard (scout!!!!). 15 hatch is better for econ but if you get a P who is good at cannon / zealot rushing you lose your hatch guaranteed, then you're so far behind...
