Let me ask you a question.

What is it about sc2sea that keeps you coming back? Is it the open tournaments and leagues that the wonderful admins of this site dedicate ridiculous amounts of time running smoothly and efficiently? Is it the sense of community? The incessant drama? Being able to interact with South East Asia's finest Starcraft players? Maybe you're just looking for a friend?

Me? I guess you could say that I like all of those things. But late last year, I found myself looking for something more. And on the third of November 2011, I found that something.

Part I: In the beginning...
"Yo yo here are some thoughts I've had today" - TAminimat

The blog scene was in disarray. Inspired by Crazerk's popular Road To Masters series, the top right corner of sc2sea found itself drowning in an unrelenting ocean of self help articles, documenting journeys to Grandmasters League, balance whine and arbitrary fitness goals. Readers cried out for something more. Little did they know, salvation was in fact on it's way.

The original My Thoughts by forum superstar, TAminimat, was a breath of fresh air. Telling it how it was, minimat scratched beyond the surface, and delved deeper into life's true mysteries.

Needless to say, My Thoughts took the scene by storm. Featuring over 4000 views and 11 replies, the original My Thoughts was deemed an instant classic, and to this day is widely regarded as an important milestone in sc2sea's relatively short history.

Pearls such as "Why is it legal to eat while driving?" and "typing a lot on iPod touch sucks nuts." would go on to change the way that people looked at the world around them.

Not content with his newfound success, minimat would be back in just two short days.

Part II: Polarization
"How come it is illegal to park in a handicap spot but it isn't to poop in a handicap toilet?"

Ah sequels. They have this nasty knack for dividing a fanbase. Fanboys love nothing more than arguing with other fanboys, both sides desperately trying to convey just why their favourite entry in a series shits over the others. Seeking some form of validation, if you will1.

My Thoughts was no exception. Moments after the posting of the second installment, the chatbox blew up. Expletives were thrown around, comparisons were drawn up, peoples mothers were insulted. It was a typical fanboy affair.

Regardless of which side of the fence they were on, followers of the series agreed that "How do pack animals organise shit so well?" was minimats finest work to date. It would remain this way until the release of My Thoughts 5, almost two months later.

Part III: Breakthrough
"Why is there gravity on Earth but not in some other places? Does gravity weigh anything? Is it a thing?"

By now, word of My Thoughts had spread to the far reaches of the internet. Readers around the world found themselves vigorously f5'ing the blog homepage, hoping that their hero would once again deliver.

And deliver he did. With the one two punch that was My Thoughts 3 and 4, minimat broke through into the mainstream. He had become bigger than Jesus. The world was at his feet, his for the moulding. Critics were speechless, likening reading My Thoughts to the first time they heard Pink Floyd or saw Lethal Weapon2

Notable exerts from this time frame include "Why if something like a button says "Do not press" we are compelled to press it??",

But when one's at the top, there is only one place left to go.

Part IV: Descent
"Your slacking, previous thoughts much more entertaining" - FaDeBadger

minimat leaving one of Los Angeles' more shady establishments with infamous child actress Lindsay Lohan

Like Maradona and Lindsay Lohan before him, minimat's eventual downfall was his own success. Entertainment Tonight and TMZ headlines tell the age old tale of sex, drugs and rock and roll. Months have passed since minimat was last seen sober in public, and his latest entry, My Thoughts 5 shows it.

Gone is the happy go lucky charm of previous efforts. My Thoughts 5 was soulless, utterly devoid of any heart or meaning. Fans were not impressed. Despite this, My Thoughts 5 remains the most read piece to date, falling just short of 8000 views.

Amidst the mountain of disappointment however, readers can find a few tiny glimmers of hope. Students of minimat's teachings agree that "How do camera's work? Like think about it it just lets in light and you get a picture or video." is the best line that he's ever put out. Also, at the end of the entry, the author teases of bigger things to come, involving "NYE and heaps of bud". Unfortunately for fans, this never came to pass.

Part V: In to the New World

What does the future hold for My Thoughts? None can say for sure. Fans still hold out hope that minimat can clean up his act, and return to the glory days of My Thoughts 2 and 3.

Whether or not another entry into this mystical series ever comes to be, I'd still like to take a moment to thank the author for broadening my views on life and the beautiful world around us.
