I don't know if you are aware of my existence (I know some in the SEA community are) but I have been a part of the community since launch but really immersed myself around April last year. I was more of a spectator than a player for most of last year, and only recently decided to 'get good' myself.
I have to say that this decision is perhaps one of the best decisions I've made in the past 18 months. For the first time I feel a desire to achieve something. This game sparked a competitive streak in me that I haven't seen since I played sport in high school, and with that it has brought up a number of issues with myself that I was simply ignoring.
Firstly, I noticed that my ability to learn has deteriorated in the past 12 months. It's like I just fail to understand simple things. When people ask me about starcraft timings, or attack timings... I just can't tell them, because I don't know. I fear that this will carry over into my first year of University that starts next month.. and I'll struggle to get back into things.
But most importantly, I am unhappy with my physical appearance. In the past 18 months I have put on around 15kgs. I went from 80~ Kilos to 95, and while I sit at 90 at the moment, I am absolutely disgusted at my current state of fitness. As a elimzkE could attest, I used to be one of the fittest people at school, and I exercised more than I studied. (Heh, I don't study much any more so I guess they are about even now).
I know it is the 'time' to lose weight and everyone 'seems' to be doing it. They put on those shit reality TV shows to make you feel 'bad' about your diet and try and force you into exercise via scare and shock tactics.. and I know you think that it is a part of my motivation. Honestly, my biggest motivation is when the next highlight real for ACL comes out, I don't want to be ashamed of the way I look on camera. Come April, I will not be some fat dude in a Chuckie T-shirt.
/end rant /blog. etc
EDIT: I will be doing a v-log of this, and at the end of it, I will show you terrible pictures of how gross I look without a shirt on, and then see how much it has changed over the 2-3 month period where I drop the weight/build muscle mass.

ahahaahaha man im ridiculously unfit compared to what i used to be... before sc2 around february this year i had a planned diet and was hitting the gym 3-4 times a week! now the only excercise i get is touch footy once a week and the odd gym session.
i've considered doing a blog series to force me back to the gym but havnt really pushed myself to do it!
anyway mate good luck im sure it wont take long to get back into shape, especially if you were a beast at High School.
I recommend low carb dieting for weight loss, sugar is evil and carbs are bad!
Protein om nom nom!
I lost a lot of weight last year (12kgs) by doing low carb. I now ride my bike to work everyday, and I play drums (which means I do a fair amount of cardio exercise) - but because I have fallen off the low carb bandwagon, I have put on a bit more weight. For me diet has reigned supreme over exercise!
*Obviously not saying NOT to exercise, but a lot of gyms etc will promote the carbs, but you only need that when you are very fit and need more fuel to power the fitness!
And I'll just take the photos daily and upload them all at once on April first.
It's not like a eat a large amount of carbs anyway, or that I eat a lot of food as it is. My problem is I eat probably 2-3 meals a day, and one of them isn't that healthy. But I'll definitely take your advice and take a look at some low carb options!
