I was inspired by Fourby's post to write the following blog which is for the TA website but figured that I should share it with the rest of sc2sea. Oh and TAPinder,TAEdgE, TAEdgE, TAEdgE, TAEdgE I love you.
Hey guys! It’s been a while since I’ve made a post so I figured I’d to do a bit of a blog this time around to talk about my favourite moments of 2011 as well as what I have planned for our 2nd year anniversary. I really don’t know where to start. 2011 was an amazing year for me. It was filled with LANs after LANs where I met so many of my TA mates as well as other awesome people. It was filled with events where TA and friends were flown all around the world to play the game that we all love. Starcraft 2. Who would have known that we all would be in this position where we’re all cheering for each other regardless of where we‘re from, what race we play and what league we’re in. 2011… You were amazing.
I’ve made a countdown of my top 5 moments of 2011. Please forgive my grammar as I am Chinese.
5. NRG LAN
Although the NRG tournament wasn’t the best run LAN it was still one of my favourite events of the year. It was there where I met so many TA members for the first time as well as big named players who I’d only heard of and respected but never met before. It was at NRG where TA and friends racked up a stack of gear and where we all drank together for the first time. It showed what sponsors had to offer for the players of Starcraft 2 as well as what Starcraft 2 can offer for the players in the future.
4. Formation of the SEACL#2 Teams
It may seem dull to have this at number 4 it’s the simple things that matters the most. Seeing everyone discuss about our 4 teams showed me that we were all passionate about competing alongside of each other. It showed me that the TA members were committed to captaining and leading their own team of which as a results, puts a lot of workload of my shoulders. It was simple and sweet.
3. Leading TA
I can clearly remember the moment I read Scarecrow’s resignation letter as though it happened yesterday. I was bored to death at my friend’s graduation so I flicked through the TA website and there it was. It was full of raw emotion which got me a little sad but at the same time I felt grateful. Grateful because out of all the other awesome TA members, I was the one chosen to lead Terror Australis. The clan that brought up and developed many great players as well as myself. What was more overwhelming about it was that everyone welcomed me into that position. I was congratulated by everyone and it felt as though they had faith in me to lead TA in the right direction. This gave me the determination to do my best…
2. Winning SEACL#1
SEACL#1 was my first team tournament and although I only played a minor role of our success, I loved every second of it. From day one to the final day we had dozens of TA members on Teamspeak cheering each other on. I can’t explain the feeling of being part of a team that supports each other so much. Amazing? Heart warming? No not even close. I remember every detail of it. Rossi and deth fought together to defeat aLt 5-1 with deth beating YoonYJ in the final game. As soon as that last game finished we all stayed quiet. Then deth came into the chat room and our song played. Land down under by Men at Work. As soon as the song ended we all erupted. We cheered, cursed and cheered more. Although it was a long time ago, this was my number 2 highlight of my 2011.
1. Blizzcon Invitationals
By far, my most favourite LAN event. I was given the opportunity by Jaczie to help administrate the 2011 Blizzcon Invitationals where Glade, Light, Mafia, YoonYJ, RedArchon, deth, Rossi and JazBas were flown to Sydney to battle it out for the 2 spots to Blizzcon. I saw many great games and got to hang out with these amazing players as well as meet the casters Paz and Jaczie for the first time. Jaczie was a wonderful person. She gave us so much and took so little. She showed everyone how a human being should be. We all hung out a lot and up to this day, I still miss everything about it. Although the 8 players were all competitors playing for money, the prize and the fame, it felt as though it was more about the friendship than anything else. This is why Blizzcon Invitationals will be the one event that I will never forget for the rest of my life.
'Favourite Pic of 2011'
So yeah I’d like to thank everyone who made 2011 amazing for me. You guys have made me a better person and 2012, good luck trying to beat 2011. (Definitely not going to list everyone’s names =p). Thanks for reading ^^.
Oh and I'll post what I have planned for our 2nd year anniversary this Sunday or something.
Man this is scarily close to my own top 5 :P For me NRG wouldn't be in there as I didn't really make the most of it due to FXO duties. Also of course I didn't lead TA in the sense you have but just being part of it for 2011 aroused similar feelings :3

Wait a minute... YOU'RE CHINESE? WTF? WHO LET THIS GUY LEAD TA?
Jks. Every member of TA who was in TeamSpeak the moment deth won that final game can tell you just how much it meant to us. The atmosphere was amazing for a bunch of nerds sitting behind their computers cheering because someone won in a computer game. Can't get much better than that.
