This Tyrael statue is right outside the D3 area, and it's incredible.
You want more blog? I got more blog, how about Day 2 of Blizzcon? Fantastic.
I jumped out of the cab bright and early (like midday-ish) in front of the convention center with my lovely other half Kalikah, clapped my hands together and walked straight in already having my sexy pass and sexy lanyard. It was like coming home!
Kalikah and I decided that Day 2 was the day for GAMES! We didn't play any of the alphas on Day 1, spending too much time wandering, watching eSports, meeting and greeting people. And drinking. Lots of drinking. First thing we did was check out the Mists of Pandaria which looked pretty good, then got a text from some people we met the night before to do some D3 Team Deathmatch.
D3 Team Deathmatch is f*cking fun
Unfortunately couldn't take too many pics of the games but check out THIS nerd farm:
HotS looks like it's going to be amazing The single player was even fun, love the new characters and missions so far.
After playing all the games that Blizzard had on offer at that convention we went wandering again! That took a fair chunk of the day, but was epic fun and wish I could've taken pics of the area a bit more. Saw Gretorp and Husky walking around taking signatures and handshakes and stuff from randoms. Also saw very recent GSL winner MMA standing at the end of a huge line with his posse, I stood around and talked to Moonglade instead. He didn't have a line and we couldn't figure out why.
Dustin Browder! Really friendly guy, I told him to do a good job on HotS balance. With the new units he'll have his work cut out for him
Watched the Blizzcon final which was amazing, even Kalikah was bouncing up and down with excitement during Game 3. After that game, we checked out some 3D games to kill time and then head towards to main stage to try and watch the bands. Bumped into Moonglade and JacziE who was an absolute sweetheart, then someone emerged from the crowd and walke by us and we just HAD to say hello!
Dimaga! Up close you can feel the gosu power aura.
We sat and lol'd at Elite Tauren Chieftan (Sam Didier's band) which had our new friend Corpsegrinder guest perform on (later in the night he told us he was super nervous about it. DAW ) After the final chords of "I Am Murloc" Kalikah and I left Moonglade and Jac to track down some noms. We found an Italian restaurant with Blizzcon on the TV.
Kalikah initiates the after party warm up procedure
We chilled in this suite for a little while with our new friends. Got to know Glade a little better and had some free beers out a bathtub full of ice (how American). He's a very chilled and awesome guy which I'm sure a lot of you already know. The whole suite got upgraded to ballroom
After the food, it was time to join the biggest nerd party event of the year. People told us about the after party and we didn't believe them. Seeing is believing!
After chillin in the lobby with everyone, it was time to head to a private party in a suite upstairs that we were invited to earlier. Met up with Moonglade and a friend of his downstairs you may recognize, then we went up to the party together.
We all went up to the suite, and got some free beers from a bathtub full of ice (how American). Got to know Moonglade a little bit better, as many of you already know he is one awesome guy. Unfortunately didn't get to find Jac like we planned but there were a LOT of private suite gigs happening that night. Ours got bumped up to a ballroom with our own bar attendant serving free drinks After a few more drinks there, everything was a little extra fantastic. Especially when go with everyone's favourite Australian pro-gamer to the other ballroom parties. One of which had a few rather decent gamers in it of the Korean variety. GSL winners anyone?
NESTEA!! Really nice dude! My hero. My god. Still can't believe I was in this pic.
Blizzcon 2011 Winner; EM VEE PEEEEEE!!
Every Korean pro-gamer at these parties was a freaking rock star. They each had a small entourage; a translator, manager and bodyguard lol. It was crazy. Really nice guys and really chilled which I was happy about, reliving the experiences through this blog is just getting me excited all over again. I'm definitely going to try and make it to Blizzcon every year and I hope some of you do too. It was worth every cent, truly the experience of a life time for any eSport enthusiast.
My pass to good times and good memories
Hope to see you at the next one Part 3 is coming up soon. Not tonight though. Kalikah and I were invited to a private tour of Blizzard Headquarters Got some pics and saw some more cool stuff! See you in Part 3.
