Hello SC2SEA guys! And nice to see you, this is first post of mine. I'm not good at English, so excuse me if I write poorly.
I'm Lapack, a SC2 fan from Japan, and participants of latest WCS SEA qualifiers season 1 Yes, 5 Japanese players participated this qualifiers. (4 of them are mentioned here, great preview btw!) And as you might know, handful of their games were broadcasted and introduced as Japanese player. So I thought, many of you would naturally think, "Why these Japanese players happened to participate SEA qualifier? They are at closer location to KR or TW?". I post this blog to partly answer this question, and more importantly, to make you feel closer and friendly to us(yes, I believe we can be good friend).
Actually I myself don't know much about WCS rules, but actually, Japanese players had never participated WCS qualifiers because we don't know how to and what region to participate WCS as Japanese. I think this is not mentioned in rules. Last month, horiken, an enthusiastic Japanese SC2 fan mailed WCS admins, and then they kindly recommended us to participate SEA qualifiers. I was so happy to hear that, I'm not good player and I knew I was going to lose(actually I lost 0-2 followed by 1-2 :P), but still I love to participate competition, because it makes us feel like we are in festival mood, doesn't it?
After I lost losers bracket, I could watch stream. Thanks for stream, I had fun very much, and this is same for many Japanese SC2 fans. Yes, quite a few Japanese fans watched WCS SEA streams, and tweeted like "PSiArc fighting" or "OMG DemiLove is awesome", etc etc...
Japanese SC2 community have been always alive but is not too large. I hope SC2JP and SC2SEA can get closer. Thank you all for reading this and thank you WCS SEA admins/streamers/participants/watchers! I'd like to meet you again
This was great to read. Welcome and we hope to see more of you guys appearing in the SEA Starcraft 2 community. Enjoy

It was cool to see you guys competing, hopefully we see more Japanese players in SEA events in the future. I had a lot of fun casting PSiArc's run - keep hunting those overlords!
