I was feeling a little nostalgic and came across this article from 5 years ago. It's WCG 2006 - incidentally - at the Gold Coast Convention Center where the WCG 2011 finals will be held in just over 2 weeks from now. You'll notice a lot of familiar names and a lot of unfamiliar hair styles. Is that aLt.Ninja? Nope, that's Dox with a baby face and long hair.
The WCG Australia Qualifers concluded this weekend with 96.GLaDe taking the victory over some very fierce competition. A late surprise entry by (German Pro) SK.Fire_de, who happened to have a dual citizenship and in the country for holidays, caused many a worry to the Aussie players present. Fortunately the AU powerhouses GLaDe and Philbot were once again able to show they can compete with the rest of the world and were able to knock him out in some tight games.

GLaDe will represent Australia for the WCG 2006 event in Monza, Italy. WCG.au tried to request a second invite spot for Philbot, however, it was denied.
Also Akbal from 96-gaming, has conducted a brief interview with GLaDe after his victory which can be found here.
Recently making it to quarter finals of Korean WCG after only one loss in qualification this ex vC Brood War player could take the big steps to professional gaming.
