With my recent failure at the AVCon tournament in Adelaide, I've decided to dedicate myself a lot more to sc2 in order to get my skill level to where I want it to be. I'd like to do well at ACLs in the future, and see how long I can play as a semi-pro or perhaps even pro player in the future. But to do this, I need to be able to support myself. So, I'm thinking of starting paid coaching services.

I'll do free coaching for a week or two, depending on how many are wanting it. It'll be to train myself up as a coach and better prepare myself for paid coaching if I eventually decide to do so. If you're wanting free coaching, PM me here on sc2sea or add me on skype at Cubetastic.

I've done a lot of free coaching in the past, but I feel like I need more practice to get myself good enough right now. Its a completely different skill than playing the game, although higher level theory does help.

Beyond that, I'm wondering what people would be interested in pricing-wise but also what people recommend for structuring coaching sessions. I think $10-15 an hour is appropriate, not entirely sure which is better to begin with.

As for the structure, I think the PiG method works well. This being watching replays to find general mistakes, then spending the rest of the time vsing players to fix the mistakes as well as find more. During the games no coaching given however, as I don't know anyone who plays better while theres someone nagging them what to do. Just ruins the rhythm. It'd probably be more up to the individual though.

I wish I could rebut this but alas, no comment.

Anyway just to give a serious comment for once - I'd highly recommend Satu to any aspiring zerg, even up to maybe diamond easily. Very strong player with a good humble attitude and strong mind for the game. Also gotta support Adelaide how I can, so consider him!

Re: Going to begin coaching

Had my first coaching session with Satu, was a great experience, we focused on ZvZ as that is a match up i have a high win rate in but my confidence in game with it is pretty low. Explained in detail the different openers for a macro orientated play as I prefer macro over allin/cheese. Also discussed with me what play-style I prefer in ZvZ to cater to build and help with timings to make it more efficient.

Did 2 games against a clan member and advice was given which really made me feel more confident in how Iwas palying which is something I really needed.

Proceeded to end the session by giving me some goals to work towards to help me improve between sessions, I would highly recommend Satu as a coach to anyone.

As to Satu personally, thanks mate you did a lot more for me then give me a coaching session, you helped me be more confident while playing which of late has slipped a lot in this particular match up.

I have a really flexible schedule atm. I would be fine doing a session in the morning instead which would be evening for you.

Add me on skype and we can figure out a good time. Skype is cubetastic

Re: Going to begin coaching

Had a session with Satu earlier today. I don't have much experience with being coached but he definitely exceeded my expectations. Really easy to get on with and definitely knowledgeable.

Gave me a nice run down on common mistakes and specifically the mistakes I was making. Answered all my questions in a clear and concise way.

Over all I was really pleasantly surprised. Highly recommend him to anyone needing help with their zerg!!
