Lately I've lost a lot of motivation for when I play. I'm finding the game less fun and I feel like I've been under performing when representing my clans in clan wars and tournaments, as well as letting people down due to my recent results and performance. I'm not saying I'm a bad player or that my skill level is dropping off, I am just not content with where I am along with the time and effort I invest into the game, which I feel could be spent more efficiently on other matters. I know the only way I'll get better is to practice 20+ games per day to break the skill plateau I've hit, but in order to improve I have to sacrifice other aspects that I would rather focus on in my life at the moment, and I just don't have the motivation to do this. I don't want to graduate from high school with average results and madd sc2 skillz, I want to do the best I can at school and I feel the time I'm investing into the game could be spent much more efficiently on my studies and other issues I'm dealing with at present.
I have my last 2 years of schooling in my site and I want to get my priorities right, being my education and mental health, as I've been dealing with some emotional issues and personal problems. I'm also hoping to pick up a part time job and do more things with my life, which SC2 plays quite a big role today.
I've been playing a little terran lately, in order to freshen things up, and even though I'm finding it quite enjoyable, I'm not exactly willing to relearn an entire race and it's build orders, (heck I don't use control groups or builds for zerg) so I'm not going to try and push myself to fill my potential, but instead play only for fun, whether that be massing widow mines off one base or proxy 5 barracks across the map at my opponents third, I'm going to focus mainly on having fun!
Soooo I have a couple announcements to make:
a) I plan to take a good amount of time off to focus on my studies and education later this year, as well as give myself more time to focus on other recreational activities, sports, friends and a job
b) I'm stepping down from both M/GM teams in mGG and TCP (and ETL keke) and only focusing on playing casually for the next 2 months as Terran
c) I will not participate in any clan wars/tournaments for 1 month as to let my MMR settle and stop all claims/accusations of smurfing
d) I will try to offer my knowledge of Zerg to my clanmates in TCP and mGG, as well as the friends I have made in other clans and teams alike, whether that be replay analysis, coaching, help over skype or on build orders in the time I have left (About until October!)
Whether this is permanent or just a year or two so off, I just want you guys to know that you're a great community and one that I've loved to be part of, Starcraft 2 has given me heaps of fun and allowed me to meet some friends from all over Australia and the region, it's even helped me cope with depression related problems I suffered earlier in my SC2 career when I was younger, giving me something to distract myself with and have fun. The road from Bronze to SEA Grandmaster has been a really amazing adventure and I've met heaps of great people that have been loads of fun
I will still be around for a maximum of 3 months (November is when my exams start again), but I'm just letting everyone know a bit in advance so I don't disappear and nobody knows where I've gone haha
There's a heap of people to thank, wayy to many to say in the blog, so I just want to say a big one to everybody, especially my clanmates in mGG and TCP and all the friends I've met, especially captains Lemminks, DrGooSe, Alpha and frogmite thank you!
It is said that if you know your enemies and know yourself, you will not be imperiled in a hundred battles; if you do not know your enemies but do know yourself, you will win one and lose one; if you do not know your enemies nor yourself, you will be imperiled in every single battle.

Chase, I know where you live. I have files, remember? So you hang around on skype and keep me company or I'm gonna come visiting (and I dont look anywhere near as nice as the people at your bday party).

Glorious leader has spoken. I second this.

It feels like half of mGG are all 16-17 year olds, all having major exams and major study breaks. >.<
