Team Exile5 is happy to announce we have a new addition to our Starcraft family and we would like you all to join us in welcoming BrBr.Doombie on board.
In case you haven’t seen his stream, Doombie has created his own show called "Breaking Bronze" and is attempting to get to Grand Master status with lots and lots of practice and a little help from the community.
So far, he has managed to get to Diamond in HotS and ladders live on stream and with the help of a second monitor (and occasionally friends in Skype) he gets live advice whilst playing games. He has friends to help moderate his streams which get some great viewers and members of the SC2 community from all over the world.
"I met Doombie at the Heart of the Swarm launch in Melbourne a few weeks ago. After the two of them explained their concept to me, I was fascinated as were several other x5 members, so we all jumped on his stream and watched several episodes.
Well...so far I have pissed myself laughing so many times, chewed the nails off both hands, seen him raise money to give away for bronze, silver and gold tournaments, and even raise $236 in less than 10 minutes to rescue a stranded cat.
I’ve also started to getting owned in SC2 again.
Doombie’s concept is simple, but his engagement with his audience is so fantastic combined with his goals. Our thoughts are simple, we want to help him achieve his dream, and maybe one day send him overseas. We also want to support his ideas and concepts and help all sections of the lower ranks of SC (including me)". Team Manager Fries
"Thanks for welcoming me so warmly to the x5 team. For those of you out there that don’t know me, I am Doombie. I have been paying and streaming StarCraft for around 5 months now and I’ve started a stream and community called Breaking Bronze. Our community is based around the idea of improving play and helping each other work our way through the leagues of StarCraft 2. My stream is based around the idea that high level players can come in and help me improve by offering advice and coaching, while this happens low level players can come in and learn along with me. I attempt to be very interactive live on the stream so that everyone can get involved in this learning process. As often as possible we have a theme that we focus on for the night, attempting to improve our play one manageable chunk at a time.
This is a very exciting time for the Breaking Bronze community and I. This amazing relationship with Exile 5 is opening many new avenues and opportunities to take the stream to interesting and exhilarating places. We cannot wait to reveal some of the plans for the future that we are working on! x5.Doombie
"I am extremely happy to be welcoming Doombie onboard to the Exile 5 team. To be able to support someone with an idea apart from "I want to be a pro gamer" is extremely exciting for me as I have been wanting to help support the grass roots level of SC2 for a long time now. Doombie is the first step of this and I look forward to seeing what he can acheive with a team and sponsors behind him. I hope this will show other players that you dont have to be the best, most talented gamer to gain sponsorship. There are plenty of unexplored options in the community and streaming that are just waiting for the right person to start and we hope to see you all in the stream!" x5.Bard
This is cool, what can I expect to see from you guys in the future? Will doombie just provide exposure through his stream for exile 5 or will you guys be doing anything new? Either way this is cool!
@ Tor, its a combination of things we have offered Doombie. Its the support to push himself as a player as far as he can and see if we can give him some extra help to do so.
Plus also we want to help him develop his stream and offer some more for lower level competition play. What we like is the combination of improvement based streaming combined with community interaction and tournaments so we will be looking to help him out with prizes, development and exposure.
In a nutshell, Doombie is awesome. We want him work with him to spread his awesome around.
