So I've been really enjoying playing SC2 again after a big break over exam/holiday time, been steadily improving my mechanics up to what I was at 6 months ago, and possibly even better than that. Quite probably I haven't spent any less time on Starcraft related things, I've just been playing now in stead of watching a stream or competition. So all has been going really really well up until....
...yea.
The funny thing is, I don't feel like I've been playing any worse. Maybe just my MMR went up and I'm facing tougher opponents? And the fact that I had a run of ten zergs, which unfortunately for me (especially being in the SEA region) is my worst matchup. Maybe I should swap to the NA server for a bit :P. Anyway, writing this has made me feel a lot better, and I've found this awesome guide on TL to PvZ (http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/view...d=383628#3.2.2). I guess I'll study that and keep grinding until something clicks.
Until then, what's your best/favorite ways of overcoming slumps/bad days?
kudos for playing that many games.. I lose one bad zvz and i just quit.. I think my longest streak of losing without stopping is 3...Teach me your ways of perseverance :\
Haha.. Spook, your comment with the Ultralisk avatar next to it put an amusing image into my head :P
I just find that when I lose it just drives me to want to get better, so every loss just want me to mash that find game button even more! I never used to be like that though, damn I had some bad ladder anxiety to begin with. Might give it a break for tonight, do some theory in the morning, then get back into it
If I'm on a loss streak I usually just try to ride it out and keep playing. But, if I feel myself getting angry and frustrated, I take a break; then once I've cooled down, come back and watch the replays. I then compare how I was playing during my "slump" to how I SHOULD be playing (I usually take a replay of a game I considered "good" from earlier that session), then re-motivate myself through realizing that I AM capable of beating people. I find it works really well for me, dunno about other people.
Also, it's good to go out on a walk or a drive some place to chill out and/or maybe have a bite, or something else productive lol. Finding another hobby to do is a great idea as well.

If i'm feel I'm starting to tilt or self-rage over my losses I usually just go do something else to take my mind off sc2 for a bit. Make some coffee/tee, hit the gym, do some work, watch TV, or even tune into other zerg's streams to mentally compare what they're doing differently.
gg wp though. Keep fighting! You'll see a lot of green soon~
I've had this issue a few times think i lost 16 in a row once, shit just happens sometimes, sometimes it doesn't go your way, a good way i found to get away from teh losing streaks was take a break and switch servers
