A bit late but here they are!! This is to remind me of the progress I need to make over the year. And also to share a bit of my life. I think im going to be very busy this year. there is little starcraft content so don't read it if you're going to be bored!
Work
1. SC2SEA - my major goal for sc2sea this year is to open up a LoL portal which our members can use and easily switch in between. since so many gamers play both games theres bound to be good synergy. I love our community and always felt it will be great if there was a SC2SEA version of us for other games. so basically its time to spread the love. Still searching for the right moderator who can helm this initiative content wise and drive it. if I cant find anyone then there wont be a portal. any idea guys?
im still gonna remain active on sc2sea and i wanna appear on sea podcast sometime this year, in the second half when things settle down. thanks for voting me guys but i dont think im ready yet and am a bit too busy atm! A previous sponsor has put aside $1,000 to run a tournament so will be looking for someone to help run that too. maybe a HoTS SEA Only SEASL#3 (1v1 Star League) would be good 1-2 months after HoTS is announced. still will be adding clans (sorry for slow response) and will be going to do the name change for pple after this.
2. tsl - the travel site i started has more than triple the unique visitors of sc2sea monthly already! this year my aim is to open up an office by the end of the year with constant sustainable advertising revenue and perm staff. I think we have built up quite a good portfolio already and can start pitching to companies. and our potential client market is huge.
3. project EDU - Have plans to set up a company with xpaperclip to develop a learning based facebook app. paperclip is one of the people i respect the most on sc2sea and one of the few I'll be fully confidently in a business relationship with. Am most excited for this! Hes currently busy with his thesis so am awaiting his availability.
4. project e - secret ongoing project coz i wanna be mysterious like blizzard
5. project SG - a side project for alternative news media platform in Singapore. This should be really easy to set up and maintain since so many singaporeans are passionate about it already. they just do not have an organised platform and all we have are a bunch of low interaction wordpress sites, with poor moderation. This is not a priority at all so its at the bottom of my list. maybe for 2014 because its about giving the opposition a better chance in 2016. opposition atm have very little awareness as they are like ghosts in mainstream media - which btw is controlled by the current government.
6. project book - not sure if i mentioned it here before but chloe and i wrote a book last year for one of the biggest korean publishers (chosun media). a draft design is out! depending on the books reception some more opportunities may open. ninja, flamga, eddie and co will rmb this place haha! and now i gotta go add a few more last min places we found.
Personal Development Goals
1. Lose More Weight - Kez has a such a sexy body. I want a body like Kez. Last year I went from about 90kg to 79kg. I wanna be around that weight but with proper body mass. right now i look like a spider. fat body skinny arms/legs. in before old man.
2. Write and Speak Better - I need to practice recording how I sound on camera and mirror, which is going to be weird so i have been avoiding it. Am going to be meeting lots of PR and marketing executives and some government board representatives this year so i need to make the best impression on them.
As for writing, I maintain a excel vocab list and try to use more words in my vocab everyday. Grubby is so inspiring when he speaks and english is not even his native languauge! hes just so well spoken!
3. Videography / Photography - I'm doing this a lot nowadays, so I decided I might as well be doing it good. I'm going to sign up for a DSLR class so I can do something with my camera than switch it to auto mode, change the focus and press a button.
I've learned video editing this year but it still looks too amateurish. So far I've learned the importance of preparing a scene script in my head and angles and some basic editing. I try to read up on a premiere tutorial trick and use it in my editing each time I start a new project. my latest video has the video subscribing overlay trick that integrates smoothly with the youtube link annotation.
Sounds like you are going to burn out I think its awesome you have so many projects that look like they will be just as successful, if not more than, as sc2sea. Good luck!
