Once again I am bored at work, and figure I would lay down some stuff!!! I figured I would start off with probably WTF are you doing lately (Its a pretty common question) and that in the past few months a lot has happened.
First off my realisation of how hard it is to produce content above a standard replay cast. There have been a few ideas here and there about things I could be uploading to YouTube however it always comes down to a couple things: Not enough time and/or my skills with all my programs still need work to be able to get a level that people would like. That would mean giving up playing as well
This doesnt mean I have not been trying, if people have seen my graphics that I have been doing lately you'll be plesantly surprised at the level they are at! And as such I have started to head in the direction of Computer Graphics as a hobby. So beware my stream is looking pretty sexy at the moment
Of course that doesnt mean im stopping anything for that!! Definately not I enjoy Starcraft all too much, especially with HoTS on the way . This just means that I will most likely not be uploading replays to YouTube anymore, ie casting offline games. This is also due to the abundance of live events and that I already cast a decent amount each week.
As for my ingame goals, I have started playing Terran and I am finally over the point where I am playing like crap because I am thinking like a Jerg, yea a Jerg! So I have set myself a goal of hitting Masters once again with it and back up to GM for once so I can compete with everyone else.
Why would I want to compete so bad? Well I just recently remember how much fun competing is and how emotionally invested I get in a game. In the recent FS SEACL facing TN I had my Bo3 and probably played the worst I have ever seen (this also transferred over to the day after as well) and I broke down in tears, was so devastated. At the same time I have felt winning, albeit only on ladder and its fantastic, especially when its a 40 min TvZ that you were on the roped the whole time!
Speaking of which, to keep motivated during gameplay, I listen to music like this:
A bit WTF but it does have good uplifting parts, and makes me feel good and stronger as I play rather than wind down. Which is always another problem, there is only so long a person can play before they get tired, and I hit that quite easily about 5-10 games depending on the day. So any ideas on how to improve that would be amazing!
I have also been asked to write a blog for AVCON about sc2 and eSports in general, which I believe will be starting soon so that will be a semi informal sort of thing like this. However probably a bigger thing is that I will be running SC2 at AVCON this year. I have afew ideas for what I would like to do however there will be no incompetence like the other year, and hopefully we will have some good fun with it as well!
But more on my thoughts, I think I would like to turn this into a Video blog, yea YouTube content (after I said all that before), but I think that actually hearing someone say it rather than WALL OF TEXT INC!!! Works a bit better, I will wait for opinions on that though :P
First off I cannot wait for ACL, and will watch the ACL VOD later on SC2. I want to make it down for at least a couple events. I think I will be around for Melbourne and Sydney (I THINK) and would love to be able to play and/or cast at these as well. The ACL guys did awesome for the WCS event so I cannot wait for this year! Just wish those matches kept coming on time!! :'( but as with everything theres always something that happens so fingers crossed it aint that one this time :P
Another thing thats been going on, the amount of apology blogs, or callout blogs and whatever you would like to call it. Why does it make me feel that the blogs are overrun by people that have no possible way to manage themselves. Its always inevitable that we will get some people come along, and maybe once do something like we have seen recently, buts its very common, and people dont really seem to learn The way I see it, if you can not be positive, or give constructive criticism then do not say anything at all. If someones annoyed your and been bad mannered, either confront them directly or grow a pair.
So I think I will leave it at that before this gets way too long! See you all around guys!!
BTW shout out to Fusion Slugs for letting me play with them for the SEACL
It is said that if you know your enemies and know yourself, you will not be imperiled in a hundred battles; if you do not know your enemies but do know yourself, you will win one and lose one; if you do not know your enemies nor yourself, you will be imperiled in every single battle.
