Hey guys, as I write this, this is probably going to be a pretty big blog post as I am covering a lot in this. So I am going to put a heading in sections and split accordingly.

Inactivity on SEA

So for those of you wondering where the hell I am, particularly Nirvana. As I was asked to make a new introduction thread but I have never done it. There are a few factors as to why like fear of my post being completely scrapped as I cannot format a post for the life of me. But for the main factor, it is not that I haven't had enough time. I have just simply been in an utterly awful mental state ever since I have finished school and have gone through a lot of turmoil trying to comprehend on what to do with myself. I can't really give any other excuse other than that. Tournaments, you almost never see me do them because they clash with my most busy time of the day where everyone needs to be helping or shit hits the fan.

Getting better at the game

I have been pumping countless hours lately into StarCraft, but that alone doesn't seem to be working if anything I have become drastically worse. I know in most cases I am my own worst enemy but I still can't comprehend why I am inconsistent. When I'm good, I'm REALLY good. A few months ago I was VSing players like iMarine, a few masters players that were 2-3 time GM players, a few barcodes that were in their official team name (like CoL and Axiom). Then when I play bad, I'm REALLY bad, so far I have lost about 70 games to 35 this season. It is shocking and I have pretty much stooped down to gold level MMR. My mindset has been something that has plagued me since I ever started SC2. I really don't know what the proper solution is, even with this "I need to improve" mindset that people use still doesn't seem to work for me. I really need help with this and I have no idea how I should go about it.

However I do perform WAY better in tournament settings and custom games, I have no idea why but I just do and I just feel myself become a completely different player

Overdue apologies

I would actually like to say sorry to some people as I never actually did it, a lot of the time I am actually highly aware of my actions and what people think of me and I do realise I should have said so earlier. I would like to give apologies to my former team TCP for some comments and drama I had caused earlier due to my own doing of getting wound up over the game, particularly the players Lemminks and Stormz.

tl;dr: I basically want to summarize that I do kind of need help at this state and I will be willing to accept it, not getting better at the actual game per-say but putting my self into correcting my mindset. Not what mindset to have, but how to obtain it.

I am basically writing this so I don't play starcraft for atleast today as that game has driven me insane.

Please ask more questions in this blog post. I don't usually like writing in text because people usually mis-interpret me.

Re: MINDcraft II: Heart of the Mindset

Yeah...all mindset...which i can never get my head around to it. Even thought i am bronze, i personally like to win games i play not lose. I know I can't win all games, but at least i want to win atleast 51% of my games, not lose more than 51% of the games. Because of the amount of losing, made me lose motivation and bored in playing SC2.

When I do practice before, i don't seem to be improving a lot in comparison to the time spent on practicing. This also part of the reason i lose motivation in SC2. I myself are not a consistent player. I am in the same situation as you, if i play alright or the way i wanted, it will play alright. If i play shit or not what i wanted, i play shit. I just not a consistent player as well. Even I know the general openning Build order for terran, i still mess it up in some games and i don't in others. Which snowballs and mostly behind or lose the game.

I personally suck at Multitasking, I am not resourceful, I can't think right away or quick enough to get out of the situation (which usually forces mistakes from me and lose the games).

I believe I haven't ladder for 3 seasons (including the current season). I also haven't logged into SC2 for a few days and haven't logged into my Clan's Skype for longer than that. When i am on SC2, i either sit in lobby or just go to NA to play some Arcade.

My SC2 Life :P

Re: MINDcraft II: Heart of the Mindset

Apology 100% accepted Bald. It was rough during those times that you were with us but when you were in control of your mindset we did have some good times. Getting good at sc works differently for everyone. Some players can just mass games and get better, whereas others need to study replays. If massing games doesn't seem to be working for you it might be worth trying a different approach.

As for your mindset I'm not entirely sure on how you can fix that (and I know you've heard this 100 times now) but play to improve not to win. Winning is great and we all love it but you will get better faster if you play to improve rather than to win. As when you play to win you are putting more pressure on yourself which can force out some of those game ending mistakes.

I wish you all the best in overcoming these issues and I hope you're happy at your new home!

Re: MINDcraft II: Heart of the Mindset

make a goal to be best in sea at your race and see how u go.

extra: if u want something more 'realistic' then aim for a goal you know you can achieve, stretch yourself 1 more level.

so aim to make masters as a basic goal, and then aim to make top 8 in a WT weekly as your stretch goal.
