Here you go.

#10 - Seed - A scary Protoss... at times. This guy does some crazy funny shit with hallucination every now and then, pulling out some interesting wins with "fake out" colossus or other units - MINDGAMES. I love Seed and was really happy to see him take down a GSL, I hope he can continue on though lately he hasn't been as stellar as that season of GSL earlier this year. He's also quite funny to talk to ^_^

#9 - Mana - Apparently not getting much of the limelight (even until earlier this year I wasn't really a big supporter of Mana) I guess due to being in EU or whatever - Mana is a skillful player who has come out to win ASUSROG summer 2011, and has attempted some CodeS but unfortunately didn't get to push too far.

#8 - Babyknight - One of my favourite players to watch. Seriously, if you ever have the time and he's streaming (hasn't been doing much lately I don't think) go check him out. His "clean" micro skills are incredible, particularly in PvP where his Blink stalkers I would say rival or perhaps are even better than HerO/Grubby. Previously using DT based openings against Zerg, BabyK has been a great "hidden" talent that I really hope FXO gets to more events to showcase his skills.

#7 - Parting - powerful PvZ skills (brace for zerg players to qq at the word 'skills') make this guy a huge threat. His PvT used to be amazing but I'm not exactly sure where it's at these days :S His PvP is generally really good, similar to Grubby and HerO with that brilliant stalker micro.

#6 - Younghwa - This guy continues to be one of those "kill people behind the curtain" kinda guys. He should play assassins creed or something, cause he'd be awesome at that. He has incredible PvP and I love watching his play, I just really hope he comes out and does something at GSL - perhaps an upcoming GSL code A champ?

#5 - Grubby - This may be my own little "grubby line" whereby you get to grubby and you start reaching players who haven't necessarily gotten big tourney wins or whatever, but they still impress. Grubby's ridiculous War3 micro skills come to the forefront in SC2 - I still remember casting him doing a nexus first against a 3gate pressure in PvP and he held it purely due to micro. Not to mention he's a handsome mofo and is a great addition to any commentary team.

#4 - MC - still deadly as ever with his various "you know what, **** you time to die" timing attacks, he has faded back from the limelight in a way, but still impresses when playing at his finest. This guy needs to teach the rest of the koreans about stage presence.

#3 - HerO - An amazing talent - when he wants to be HerO is that kinda player who you think can win from any point no matter how bad it looks - unless he's on a streak of bad form. When HerO slumps he can slump hard and just disappear, which sucks. His fantastic micro (particularly blink stalkers) win him games from the brink of defeat, and while his PvT is a lot better than it once was, personally I think his PvZ is his shining light, namely his use of warp prisms.

#2 - Creator - Effective builds and really nice smooth play, Creator rose relatively slowly (especially when compared to Rain) but is still one to be feared, particularly in PvT with solid, hard hitting play.

#1 - Maxiumsblack - Don't really think that could be challenged (or that it's unexpected) given his fantastic performance throughout 2012, he came from being a semi-common player on SKT1 to being essentially the best Protoss (maybe one of the best players) in the world. Combining 2base all-ins with long-term macro games, this guy is a monster and will probably stay one for a while yet.

SPECIAL MENTIONS:

Golden in the FFA was pretty good.
Whitera deserves a spot from his impressive stuff in HOTS so far but whatever.
Titan and Monchi are also not bad, though I'm not sure whether they fit up against these guys.
It was also hard not to put my boy Sage on here - but I have no idea what he's up to these days.

List your top 10 and your favourite ice cream.

Re: In my opinion, the top 10 Protoss right now

Haha, I would probably rate the top 10 protoss as:

#10 MaximusBlack
He doesn't have great results but he is nearly #1 masters and is really entertaining. And he has beaten WhiteRa in a straight up game.

#9 MC
In a pretty big slump at the moment, but he is still right up there with the best! He is pretty chubby too so thats why he is a bit lower on my list.

#8 Seed
He 4gated his way to a GSL win so nothing amasing but he still is better than MC because he beat him with a 4gate lol.

#7 HuK
Famous for his mothership rush and always a fan favorite. Again in a little bit of a slump but is still one of the top foreigners and worthy to be on this list.

#6 Creator
A very talented kid, but he does sometimes rely on scumbag builds to win games. Maybe he will grow out of it.

#5 PartinG
Once said to have had the greatest PvT of all, he now has some pretty fancy PvP and PvZ to go along with it. He is also skinny which is good.

#4 Naniwa
Just watch his games vs the best zerg in the world: Nestea. Very close to being in the top 3!

#3 Squirtle
I haven't watched any of his games for a few months, but I like his 2 base stalker collosus build PvT.

#2 HerO
Has really good warp prism harass but has awful teeth so thats why he is not number 1.

#1 Rain
Easy choice and you can see why with his recent results. Known for taking big risks and sneaky all ins he is the protoss to beat!

Leave your suggestions and opinions!

Re: In my opinion, the top 10 Protoss right now

1) Rain

The OSL Champion, the WCS Asian Regionals first place finisher and a third place in the GSL put Rain above the rest. He has the flashiness and multi-tasking of HerO but without the tendency to over-commit to harassment, but most importantly his ability to construct and quickly come up with the strongest possible composition for when he wants to attack suits the game in it's current form.

2) HerO

Winning NASL and Dreamhack certainly puts HerO in the news a lot but unless he can recreate those results against stronger fields there will always be lingering questions. He's a joy to watch and he often plays Protoss the way you wish Protoss had to be played but sometimes his tactics fall flat on their face.

3) PartinG

Solid timings and utterly shameless PvZ have taken parting to a first place finish at the Battle.net World Finals and a WCG Championship. I have a soft spot for players who will do whatever it takes to win popularity be damned and PatinG is no exception.

4) Creator

The originator of double forge PvT, Creator was able to grab second place at the Battle.net World Finals and managed to win TSL4, he was also the last protoss left standing in the previous season of GSL. Solid and strong.

5) Squirtle

Despite being knocked out of Code A by number 9 on the list, Squirtle, continues to impress with several second place finishes this year. His solid but unremarkable PvZ seems to be Stephano's achilles heel and plenty of Terran players still seem knocked off balance by the speed of his colossus timings, he just has to watch for those 2-raxes and relative weakness in PvP

6) MC

The Protoss President, while not quite as impressive lately, still ranks up there because of his total prize winnings and continued good placings. Narrowly missing out on his third GSL title and managing to redeem himself from his "floundering" past by taking third in the first Starcraft 2 OSL he also acts as the gatekeeper in many foreign tournaments spitting out hopeful non-korean players in his wake.

7) Seed

I'm not sure what to make of Seed's GSL Championship. His performances following his fateful season might just be the classic LG-IM post title slump or he could disappear off the face of the earth like jjakji. Nothing about his play stands out much to me except for the excellent build order preparation that seems to be incredible miracle's trademark.

9) finale

The only other Protoss to get close to breaking through the code-s groups, as well as putting in work in the GSTL against FXO, finale deserves his spot for that alone.

8) Yonghwa

The perpetual rising Protoss star, Yonghwa might actually make good on his reputed potential this season after knocking Squirtle out of Code-A.

10) MaNa

Likely the second most influential PvT player next to Creator, MaNa's creative gateway powering is a large reason for protoss late game dominance. He is the sole foreigner on the list for his high finishes at Dreamhack and for denying Stephano and ForGG the "easy" money at ESWC.

Honorable Mentions:

RoxKis Titan , Babyknight and Fraer :

Titan has actually been really good for quite a while, one of the few Protoss to beat Stephano during his period of 85% win rate making nothing but roaches. The fact that he topped an extremely difficult WCS group further cements that he's a player to watch with great interest. The other European Protoss are close but Titan to me has been more consistent for a longer period of time.

Whitera and Grubby :

The popularity picks, Grubby seems to perpetually improve and has the charisma and marketability to continue to do so within his own means, White-ra on the other hand seems more content to be a fan-pleaser and while he occasionally busts out a strong performance his creativity is unlikely to see him take a large title soon.

Naniwa and Huk :

Two talents that seem to be their own worst enemies, their motivation seems to ebb and flow with the tide and when they're truly motivated they seem more likely to burn themselves out then most other players. Huk doesn't have Naniwa's problems with team stability and so tends not to drop as low as Naniwa does at his worst, but he also hasn't quite shown the impressive highs either.

Genius and San :

I hate everything about how these two play but they seem to hang on to their spots regardless, certainly talented and they seem consistently middle of the pack but I can't enjoy their play.

tldr: tgun sucks for searching for his name in long posts.

Agree with Rossi

Parting at #7 doesn't sit well with me. He is arguably THE best Protoss out there at the moment IMO.

The westerner's are too high on this list.

This.

This list is pretty much the way I would have put it, although I love grubby and naniwa no foreign Protosses stand up to the might of the korean protoss
