Maybe it's the end of the road. But the end of a road is but a bend in the road. As National Service has stopped many competitive gamers' paths, it has also halted mine. As I enlist tomorrow, it will be awhile till I'll show up in eSports again.
The journey has been fun. Full of excitement, self-disappointments, ecstasy, adrenaline-pumping moments. So many memorably silly moments, so many unglamorous photos. The best thing was that I've got to travel. Coming from a not-so-well-off family, travelling was a dream come true. Meeting new friends, experiencing new cultures, embracing new sceneries and all.
To all the aspiring gamers out there, I dedicate a personal favourite quote of mine to you:
"A person is strong not because of his/her capability to attain success, but because of his ability to overcome his/her failures."
And now the time has come, for me to move to the next stage of life. I'll see you soon again, eSports. It's been one hell of a ride.
P.S.: I'll be back in Starcraft II: Heart of the Swarm
Signing off,
Marcus "Revenant" Tan/Chen "Revenant" Xingyi
Flash eSports Starcraft II Division's Captain
