This was so terrible, and so terribly awesome at the same time, I don't know how you can go to the effort of making all those environments, models, minigames and the rest of the game while having such a total disregard for common sense.

I first came across this game while looking to buy the cheapest Borderlands 2 ($only 43 btw!) from GMG. Their site had great prices so I browsed around the "simulation" category, my all time-favourite! (I love sim city builders and games) I noticed a ridiculously titled High School Dreams and quickly clicked on it, expecting to get some laughs at how absurd it was going to be!

You’re the new girl in town and it seems that everywhere you look there are boys! Sporty boys, funny boys, talented boys, good looking boys, intense boys, nerdy boys…

Pluck up the courage to talk to them and get to know them, see if they have the same interests as you, dress up to look your best, get invited out on dates, talk to your friends at school and spill all the juicy gossip, learn who’s in and who’s out.

My first reaction was to post it in the chatbox. "Cyanide, i found a game for you!" And then i continued to look for more games to troll him, like "Pony Love". Later when i came back to it, i realised it had glowing reviews by some people who bought it. It also seemed like it had decent gameplay from the screenshots. The other games didn't and this made it stand out. Also, while the other sims ranged from 8.9 - 19.9, this was just $2.90!! This guy sums it up best in his review.

I bought this game for my girlfriend as a joke, it actually turned out to be pretty enjoyable and worth the money. The game has you completing lots of minigames, going to the shops, dressing up in outfits and trying to impress boys - all the typical teenage girl pasttimes.

Dialogue feels like a cliche American highschool movie most of the time but there are moments which are genuinely funny and will give you a smile.

So I asked the sc2sea chat if i should buy and stream it. It was only $2.90, and $2.40 after the 20% GMG coupon discount so why not! Lets get entertained for an hour or so and be done with it haha. Turns out I'm 7 hours into the game now and not even halfway done. And this was the most fun I have had playing a single player game in a long long time.

I've played many dating sims, stand outs would be The Sims, Kudos, "True Love" and a bunch of other japanese "games" but this one takes the cake. Its the best dating sim ever made. There is far more depth in it than all of those games combined, the dialogue is HILARIOUS, some serious talent there (the cheerleader bitchfest comes to mind). The sterotypes are hilarious, the creepy park ranger, the depressed emo kid, the bimbotic star jock. The creators know how ridiculous it is and theyare in with us on the joke, bringing the best out of their characters.

The voice acting top notch and story is.. well typical. If you think of how ridiculous it is well you won't enjoy it. If you just play it for laughs you will. Kinda like people who enjoy movies like "Tropical Thunder" and "Harold and Kumor goes to white castle". We know they arern't "oscar winning" movies but overlook the story and just enjoy it for the comedy value. The others who think its a stupid waste of time will probably think this game is just bad. I have appreciation for those movies so I would gladly have payed up to $39 or something for this game.

Anyway I will resume streaming and trying to achieve my high school dreams!
