Hi Guys,
Lately I've been thinking about the timing of the heart of the swarm release and with it coming out late this year some time i think it would be a mistake for blizzard to bring out the expansion then. The whole dynamics of the game will change and completive play will be quite random in the first year of its release. In terms of the competitive scene I'd actually like to know what the plans are for the big competitive players in sc2 (MLG,NASL,GSL etc.) , are they all going straight to Hots or is their going to be a gradual transfer of the scene to Hots like bw to sc2? Also do our pros intend on going straight over to HoTs or not?
With the majority of the Kespa players now getting involved in sc2 i'd like to see blizzard delay their release date so that the sc2 scene which is right now flourishing to get to even greater heights in terms of viewership and sponsorship and the amount of competitive players.
Of course i think HoTs will be great for fans of sc2 and give a new fresh interface etc.. and it will definitely shake up the competitive scene but I honestly think Wings of Liberty still has time in it and hasn't all yet been figured out.
From what I saw in an interview with David Kim, they arnt making any plans for a release yet and they really want to do as much of a beta as possible. only planning a release date after doing the beta so that they can release it as balanced as possible so that the pro players can jump straight in
A few pros are taking a break waiting for HoTs to come out and then to throw all their energy into being the fastest to adapt so they can pick up the undoubtedly big prizes that will follow its release. I'm still just trying to improve in WoL so I'll just follow whatever other people do :P. As soon as the major tournaments swap over everyone will swap over
