for a while theres been some confusion over the Naming, order and winners of previous City Hunter LANs, Here I will try and rectify the issue by summarizing the results of the last 16 months or so CH has been involved in SCII
The Beginning
- City Hunter's Starcraft II Festival
Something we're extremely proud of is that we held the 1st LAN Tournament for Starcraft II in Australia (as far as I know im yet to be told otherwise)
Something that extremely annoyed me was that the one we held in January 2011 was dubbed CityHunter LAN#1 despite it being our 2nd!
The competition started on the 28th of August 2010 roughly 1 month after the games release, DeL made a Liquipedia page about on the 5th of August 2010 the same day I posted to event online (9 days after the games release!) http://wiki.teamliquid.net/starcraft...r_SC2_Festival
There were 3 events for this competition
Starcraft II 1v1
Starcraft II 2v2
CS 1.6 3v3 (yeah I still dont know why)
Attendance was massive with 96 people (that was full rego, could have been more) signing up for the 1v1 Comp and 37 teams for the 2v2 Comp (maximum was for 48 teams) the 1v1 tournament held the record for the highest participation for a SC II LAN event in Australia for an astonishing 11 months
Notable players whom attended
Unfortunately for this event the sign ups were taken using people IRL names so I can release a full list of attendance I do recognize names that still attend City Hunter LANs but as for people from the SC2SEA Community
Iaguz- The first person to sign up lol
TAScarecrow- also another early sign up, signing up 3rd
Moonglade- Back when he played for Team Immunity
HerBz- Moonglades team mate at the time dont think he continued playing much longer
Sanchez- the one and only ^_^
Rampager- Hasnt aged a day
PiG- Signed up with his brother Anthony, famously destroyed a cheesie Glade in the 2v2 group stages (I was sitting next to Glade when this happened!)

They went to trade with my bro but his seige mode finished just as they started up his ramp and his 3-4 tanks seiged up massacring their whole army :P. Felt so epic!
The community
The community back then all congregated in CG here's the forum link to my original
http://www.cybergamer.com.au/forums/thread/159277/29Aug-19Sep:-City-Hunters-StarCraft-II-Festival-$5000-cash-and-prizes/
It includes Pinder asking whether he has to drive up from Melbourne 4 weekends, DeL being helpful and Glade being a boss
1st Fei zheng & Jack Ma 2nd Kommunist & Jimmy Wu 3rd Cameron Lai & Mike Rose
Final thoughts
Even in these early days I could tell just how mature the Starcraft II community was compared to the ones I had worked with up until this point, I early awaiting the time when I could run one myself (Dave mostly ran this event)
Coming Soon (Part 2)- The Summer of Love
