So recently I've been thinking about sc2 and the best way i can achieve what i want out of this game.
Player wise i don't have the time or dedication needed to play ladder all day every day, im more a few hours every few days as much as i love this expansion. So my thinking is I would like to do coaching for a team a proper go. I know coaches generally aren't a thing outside korea in sc2 but i think if people would be willing to give it a try i could add some value to a team/academy.
The thing you need with coaching is players respect and trust.
While most higher level players are very skeptical to taking advice from lower level players because they generally don't understand the game as well and offer feedback on only the obvious, i believe i have enough insight into the game as well as general tactics and how to create builds specific to countering players/maps. I write documents as i play so i know the strategies I can use both for and against as well as timings for certain aspects.
Without giving away too much now, I would like to offer my services to people who would like it to gain some community respect in my coaching ability.
I would also like to point out my background is in air traffic control and business analysis, which are both about seeing/finding problems in the system and finding a way to make them better/smoother. I believe these real world skills will also help me with a teams system.
Will be seeing what comes in the next week and hopefully training some people from then
LOL i don't need to join the team to train them if they would like that. The main thing is to have the trust from the players to be able to try new things and systems if required to help further them
do you have any prior experience? If you want to coach for a team you'll probably be required to have some past experience and to have good game knowledge.
If you don't have any current experience and you're still interested you should ask around some of the smaller teams/clans in America.
Stallion was previously on a high level Australaian team and has plenty of experience within the SEA competitive scene. I'd be happy to discuss this further with you but will speak with my team first.
That said, to anyone interested i would happy to personally vouch for Stallion and his game knowledge.
It is said that if you know your enemies and know yourself, you will not be imperiled in a hundred battles; if you do not know your enemies but do know yourself, you will win one and lose one; if you do not know your enemies nor yourself, you will be imperiled in every single battle.

I'll be honest from playing you first hand I think you have quite awful game knowledge, ffe in lotv?? double forge off 1 gateway? and don't say you didn't have time or you were nervous. Do you have a nervous twitch where you build a forge or something?
Seriously I am going to just be straight up about this. You're not good enough to coach anyone and no one will benefit from getting coaching from you.

Your opinion is always allowed. I never said i was an amazing player, because i don't believe i am. As i have previously said, i don't believe you need to be a high level player to coach people, the same thing happens in quite a few different sports around the world.
I'm purely offering anyone that wants to have a second set of eyes, opinions and ways to look at the game, because i enjoy this game and want to have fun with it.
Cool man I'm just making sure the people that are actually serious about the game don't waste their time
if the person wants me to look at their play and give them my feedback and ideas i will, skill level doesn't matter, some people are more open to trying different things and feedback than others. I'm merely putting myself out there willing to try new things. I would think that is better for someone who is "serious about the game" but each to their own

Your analogy doesn't quite hold because the coaches in question, although not great players physically (in sports the physical demand is often quite high) are absolute experts with regard to the specifics that they coach (which is often founded in knowledge based coaching, hence why you don't need to be a good player).
In Starcraft, the analogy doesn't quite hold because skill is inextricably linked with knowledge. Much like in chess, to be a good coach you absolutely need to be a good player. So I think the criticism of your play does present a problem because it is a reflection of your capacity as an effective coach.
