So it is Friday night and I am here in Taipei for one more night before heading back to the land of Australia and wanted to share some of my amazing experiences from Computex 2014!
I arrived on Monday night after spending 19 hours travelling and headed straight to my hotel in central Taipei. By this time I was relatively exhausted from travelling and knew I would have to be up early as Computex began the next morning.
Taipei is incredibly humid at the moment which I did not come prepared for at all! The first day of Computex was amazing, I spent most of the time there at our MSI booth we had arranged for customer meetings early in the week. I took a few photos but I am not a great photographer so I will share some from the MSI page instead!
That night was the event I had been looking forward to most, the MSI Gaming Night! This year one of my favourite SC2 players was there - Miss GaYoung Kim!
Wednesday and Thursday were long days in the booth followed by various functions and in the end a lot of partying - what Computex is all about I learned! I did however manage to get a couple of amazing massages while here which are not only cheap but 90 minutes of what I can only describe as a cross between intense physiotherapy and borderline torture. My entire back and arms are bruised and aching right now.. ha ha ha.
Hello Kitty is huge in Taiwan, everywhere you go there is Hello Kitty including this restaurant. The girls at work were saying people theme their entire houses in Hello Kitty..
MSI Notebooks biggest news of the exhibition was the GT72 which was seen for the first time, the redesign of the popular GT70 model looks amazing up close incredibly sleek and stylish!
Today I got to set foot inside MSI HQ where I was lucky enough to see two rooms which are rarely seen..
The Gaming Room was the first place they took me and they had to drag me out because the set up was amazing, I wish my office had this T_T
Complete with a fibre optic connection, casting desk and 10 player stations the MSI Gaming Room hosts staff LANs and events and doubles as a studio for producing Youtube content.
The last room I went into is probably the most special because it is rarely seen by anyone, the MSI Design Room which holds samples of every single MSI Notebook ever made along with prototypes, sketches and the designers process..oh and some MSI Notebooks which never made it to production!
This is the first ever notebook produced by MSI!
I had an amazing trip to Computex. Tonight I went to the night markets to take a look around and tomorrow and heading to Taipei 101 so I get to do a few touristy things here as well as work!
I really recommend coming to Taipei if you ever get the chance!!!!!
