Standard IXL behaviour, glad to see nothing has changed despite the division.

Pfft XL's academy team could probably beat IXL

So some ex IXL members take a dig at us for going in a different direction and so we take a dig back. Big friggin deal. Apparently people can't take a joke these days and things quickly spiral out of control.

So allow me to clarify once more. We just want to get back to basics and have fun playing games.

TBH we don't even care who is better than who. We just don't want any politics or school yard games in the clan. This is why we came up with a Code of Conduct. You'll notice that there's nothing in there about being the most GOSU player. We're only interested in people with a good attitude and who want to be a positive part of a gaming community.

So that's not going to suit everyone and we're cool with that. We expected that there would be people in the clan that wouldn't be happy with it and that's fine. That's why we put a notice and gave all existing members the opportunity to either stay or go.

For us it's more about the culture that we're trying to build.

To be blunt, there are some people that we're happy to see go. There's no denying that IXL has in the passed built a bad rep. There are people who largely contributed to that rep who are now gone. I expect that they (and others) may continue to bm and drag up stuff that happened in the past. We're absolutely cool with it. All this does is validate our decision to try and start afresh.

Me personally, I hope we can move passed the adolescence. From our end, I can assure you that we will. I haven't personally met any of you before but if I do, I will shake your hand and wish you the best.

Everyone here who says "Typical IXL" "IXL never changes" or something of the like are the real scumbags here. Sure, XL and IXL are taking shots at each other, but it's for fun. XL is trying to parody it all, and IXL is trying to become a bigger competitor in terms of a clan, team and community.

Everyone who can't get past the separation and are going to stick to their negative beliefs, you don't deserve to post. Post positively or don't post anything at all, your posts only hurt any sort of growth.

In this situation, when IXL are so apparently eager to show that their wanting to step forward and change their reputation for the better, and go forth with seperating the wheat from the chaff, and follow that up with bitching and bickering between the two sides... All that says to me is that, sure you've made action to change for the better.. But all you've done immediately after is stoop down to their level. Take the moral high ground, shit, you have it. Don't throw away whatever respect you gained from the community for throwing out the BMers in a foolish attempt to take shots at each other. You say it's for fun, well that may be, but as an outsider looking in, I can't tell that. I'm not on IXL so I don't know about how the clan dynamic is/was.

When you say you "Don't deserve to post", think about what you're actually saying. You're saying I don't have a right to post on a public forum, to post my opinion? Not sure if I could ever agree with you here.

I agree Flux. It was meant to be a joke and all in good fun... at least that's how I expected the ex IXL guys to take it. At the end of the day, it was their call to not be a part of IXL. Honestly thought it was all in jest. They posted and had a bit of a dig so we thought we'd have some fun with it right back. Some people took it seriously. If it started off as a serious post (and not in response to the XL Blog then I could totally understand). In any event it was poor judgement on my part and if I had known that it would offend, I wouldn't have posted it. Realise that things get taken out of context if people don't know the full story.

As for the clan dynamic, it was before my time but from what I heard it got pretty bad. Which is a massive shame cause there's so many good people in the clan. The bull$hit just completely took the fun out of playing.

So I've tried to clear the air and just say that there was never any malice behind my post (no pun intended). Just tit for tat bit of fun between the guys.

We've publicly extended the olive branch (see above) just so there's no bad feelings.

Anyway onward and upward.
