Hey guys, some of you may know me, some of you may not. I'm a Zerg player from New Zealand, been around these parts for around a year and a half now. I've never really been at the level of skill I wanted to be, I've always been trying to push myself and would have brief periods where I would improve dramatically, but they were always followed by a small slump and resulting stagnation afterwards. I never really got to where I wanted to be, but that's my fault for not really trying hard enough to get into the right mindset and I've come to accept that for what it is.

Recently, my internet has basically gone to absolute shit and so I've been unable to really play at all for the past month or so. Unfortunately, after a month of losing to players who I would easily have crushed even a year ago, I've basically lost all interest in attempting to play competitively any more. I had toyed around with the idea of throwing in the towel a few months ago, but I decided I would stick with it until I had come back from my overseas trip (July-August) and see how things went. I came back and joined forces with the Clan ToR and, later, the team eCKo eSports. A few days after I joined up with eCKo, I began to notice issues with my internet, and since then it's gotten worse and worse (I'm currently pinging 360ms to NA, 450 to KR and EU, and 600 to SEA). Not only is this the constant lag I have, but on top of this I get spikes every couple seconds as well. So, I'm sure anyone reading this can imagine it's hardly ideal playing conditions.

Considering I live with my parents, I discussed whether or not it would be an option to switch ISPs; which didn't go well. After assessing my current finances, I'm unable to rent out my own place, so I'm stuck here for the next little while, at least a few months. With no change in ISP in my current home, and no option to move to, I bring us to the crux of this blog.

The imminent termination of my semi-competitive StarCraft II "career", for want of a better word. I've made a lot of friends along the way, some honorable mentions come to mind but considering I don't plan on leaving the scene, I don't feel it's necessary to attribute them in this blog. So, shout-outs to all the former Team Iris guys, lots of love for 'em and all their awesome plans for the future. Shout out to ToR, awesome clan, full of cool people who are always having... interesting(?) discussions in skype chat. And obviously big shout out to my (now former) team eCKo eSports, cheers for the opportunity to rep the tag, even if I didn't really get a chance to rep it well over my short stay.

I'll still be around, just not really playing like I was before. Don't expect me to play in tournaments or anything like that, or expect to look at my Korean account and see 20 wins in a row and top 16 GM or anything. I'll be playing for fun, when I feel like it, and enjoying the parts of SC2 I love most; the high level games, the eSports, and of course, the community.
