With my recent failure at the AVCon tournament in Adelaide, I've decided to dedicate myself a lot more to sc2 in order to get my skill level to where I want it to be. I'd like to do well at ACLs in the future, and see how long I can play as a semi-pro or perhaps even pro player in the future. But to do this, I need to be able to support myself. So, I'm thinking of starting paid coaching services.
I'll do free coaching for a week or two, depending on how many are wanting it. It'll be to train myself up as a coach and better prepare myself for paid coaching if I eventually decide to do so. If you're wanting free coaching, PM me here on sc2sea or add me on skype at Cubetastic.
I've done a lot of free coaching in the past, but I feel like I need more practice to get myself good enough right now. Its a completely different skill than playing the game, although higher level theory does help.
Beyond that, I'm wondering what people would be interested in pricing-wise but also what people recommend for structuring coaching sessions. I think $10-15 an hour is appropriate, not entirely sure which is better to begin with.
As for the structure, I think the PiG method works well. This being watching replays to find general mistakes, then spending the rest of the time vsing players to fix the mistakes as well as find more. During the games no coaching given however, as I don't know anyone who plays better while theres someone nagging them what to do. Just ruins the rhythm. It'd probably be more up to the individual though.
This is definitely a great opportunity for Zergs! $10-15 an hour is more than reasonable and coaching can really easily help you find direction and refinement in your play and help take it to the next level.
Best of luck with your endeavours Satu, I'd be really surprised if Zergs weren't swarming at the opportunity
I'd totally jump on this but I don't even know how to be coached or how much coaching would actually benefit me outside of learning builds Other people should definitely do this though, Satu beats maphackers for fun - true story.

Its purely about how fast you want to improve as a player. Coaching I believe will help you improve faster through replays, good practice partners, more refined builds etc etc. You can do the exact same job by yourself if you work hard enough at it, but its ten times easier having someone point out your mistakes than to find them 20 games later on ladder. Its really the same as any other sport improvement wise.
Also coaching really helps Edge here got me to masters in 1 session so I recommend satu. Plus you will be boosting the South Australian economy by paying him, i expect it to rise by 10%
